Anybody else still wishing we would have taken a RB in 3rd round?

Still think that decision might come back to bite us. Why didn't we take Matt Jones or Karlos Williams, or try to trade up and take Telvin Coleman? I'll admit not many knew how good Karlos Williams might be, but everyone was aware of the talent of Jones and Coleman.

Trading up for Coleman might've cost our 4th round pick, but I'd trade Green and Wilson for Coleman.

Please don't interpret this as being critical, but why are you raising this question now?
The running game wasn't our problem Sunday night. The offensive line was opening huge holes. Our problem was turnovers.

Second, T.J. Yeldon was taken at the top of the second round. He wasn't available in the third. Tevin Coleman hasn't made anyone forget Adrian Peterson when last I checked.

And we just acquired CMike, who I believe will be the lead back by the middle of the year.

We're 1-0 now, and we're going to ram the ball down the Eagles' throats.

Chillax. :)

im not upset about it. I think we ll appreciate having more on the o line than a iffy running back.

Jeremy Langford went 15 picks later.

Matt Jones went 4 picks later.

Yeah, I could've included Matt Jones. I just think most people thought he wouldn't be drafted that high. I really think the Cowboys kept thinking a RB would fall to them in the next round, and the ones they had targeted for that round kept getting snatched up. I think they were too smart for their britches, and should've just taken a dang RB in the early rounds with a draft that was RICH in RBs.

My bad on Yeldon. I fixed it. But I do think we're missing a dynamic RB, and it will make a difference. I really hope I'm wrong.

I'm going to wait until later before I get concerned. I wish we would have taken a running back, but we didn't. We'll see if the sum of our parts is better than the whole - or however that saying goes. :)

Yeldon went really early...at the beginning of the 2nd round. Are you suggesting we should've used our first rounder on him?

We didn't take Coleman because we took Randy Gregory.

And, to trade all the way up from 91 to the 69-72 range you would:
1) have to actually have a team willing to trade and
2) be willing to give up the rest of your draft...not just a 4th.

we're starting to need a "oh my god i'll never let this go" zone.

Not one of them looks any better than Joseph Randle, so no.

I don't regret it.

I wanted Coleman bad, and after watching Atlanta on MNF I think Coleman is even tougher than I thought he was originally. I would have liked to swap him out for Chaz Green, but only because I haven't seen Green yet. Green could be an all pro RT for all we know.

I will say this, I am fine with not taking a RB now Only because we got Cmike for a 7th. IMO he might be more talented then anything we could have gotten after the 2nd round. I just want to see the kid play though!

The back that handled the majority of the running averaged over 4 yards a carry. The backs as a whole accounted for 48% of the offensive yards in the game. Not sure what a rookie would have brought to the table Sunday night that wasn't already there. I know it seems we were pass happy, but up until the 4th Q, we were fairly balanced run to pass ratio, especially if you include the WR screens and dump offs to the backs as just an extension of the run game.

Thanx one above you arent the gm.

Coleman looks very quick and decisive he's going to be a very productive RB baring injury, so is David Johnson just a glimpse but looks like a beast in the making. Jones and Williams are there as well.

Looking back a RB would have been nice in the Draft but looking forward Christine Michael could end up being the Bell Cow we all wanted in the first place after all.
