Anybody else still wishing we would have taken a RB in 3rd round?

Please don't interpret this as being critical, but why are you raising this question now?
The running game wasn't our problem Sunday night. The offensive line was opening huge holes. Our problem was turnovers.

Second, T.J. Yeldon was taken at the top of the second round. He wasn't available in the third. Tevin Coleman hasn't made anyone forget Adrian Peterson when last I checked.

And we just acquired CMike, who I believe will be the lead back by the middle of the year.

We're 1-0 now, and we're going to ram the ball down the Eagles' throats.

Chillax. :)

Exactly the running game was just fine on Sunday and had nothing to do with what happened on Sunday. Turnovers screwed up our offensive scheme.

My bad on Yeldon. I fixed it. But I do think we're missing a dynamic RB, and it will make a difference. I really hope I'm wrong.

You're wrong sir. Christine Michael will make you smile. Give it time.

I wanted Coleman bad, and after watching Atlanta on MNF I think Coleman is even tougher than I thought he was originally. I would have liked to swap him out for Chaz Green, but only because I haven't seen Green yet. Green could be an all pro RT for all we know.

I will say this, I am fine with not taking a RB now Only because we got Cmike for a 7th. IMO he might be more talented then anything we could have gotten after the 2nd round. I just want to see the kid play though!

I have the same sneaky suspicion about CM being better than all the backs we had available as a choice. Remember that was the first game so the cat is not entirely out of the bag just yet. After these first five games is time to worry or rejoice.

I believe Michael is significantly better then anyone we would have drafted our 3rd rounder and beyond with the exception of maybe Davis or Cobb

I think those are the only 2 that would have had a shot at winning a starting job here

I liked Mike Davis but he went 1 pick before the Cowboys picked Wilson. I'm curious if they would have considered him there.

I think it's a matter of time for Cmike. I do like how Dunbar stepped up finally and is keeping him on the bench however. But somebody is going to get dinged, or be non productive, or Cmike is going to shine in practice and leave them no choice.

Still think that decision might come back to bite us. Why didn't we take Matt Jones or Karlos Williams, or try to trade up and take Telvin Coleman? I'll admit not many knew how good Karlos Williams might be, but everyone was aware of the talent of Jones and Coleman.

Trading up for Coleman might've cost our 4th round pick, but I'd trade Green and Wilson for Coleman.

Count me among those who at the time had wished the Cowboys had made more of a concerted effort to get Coleman. Truth be told, though, we as fans will never know if they didn't make an effort; for all we know, they did, but either the price wasn't right or they simply couldn't find any willing suitors. Either way, based on what we have seen in 1 game, it may have happened the way it should have happened. Of course, we will know more this coming Sunday and even more when Christine Michaels is able to get an opportunity, which I would bet will happen at some point this season due to injury to one of the current starting 3.

I'm not entertaining regrets any longer. It's history now and we're obliged to go forward with what's been done. Who knows -- we might be very glad to see Chaz Green available next year at RT. There's usually a silver lining for practically every cloud that appears. Maybe that will apply here as well. Free can't last forever and Green might offer a timely solution to his departure. I also happen to believe it's just a matter of time before C-Mike steps in to augment the RBBC approach on offense.

Tevin Coleman reminded me of Joe Randle (watched the eagles-falcons). I'm not sure what would be the point other than he's someone else.

Green was going to be a no-show this season whether injured or not. He very well could've been the swing OT and not play a snap all year. I'm still fine with the pick. Ask the same question this time next season.

Ive seen " insiders" say they wanted him or Allen in the 4th

But since its "insider" stuff....huge grain of salt

I would've only taken David Johsnon.

Matt Jones is a complete second guess and Karlos Williams had character concerns but he did look better than I thought he would.

Plus.. I would argue that tackle depth was and is still more important than RB help.

Who would you rather have? Tevin Coleman or Randy Gregory?

I'll roll the dice on Gregory, thank you.

I really hope he gives them no choice

I wanted to take the best available RB in the second round until I seen Gregory on the board.

Running game had nothing at all to do about Sunday night. I don't understand this thread,

No.

There wasn't anyone available that was better than what we had. Same answer today as it was 4 months ago right after the draft.

Yeah, same regurgitation of the team's answer.

Throw in an RKG reference and win a blue star sticker.

There is zero chance, Z.E.R. FRIGGIN. O., we will look back at the 2015 NFL draft in 5 years and not see a better RB still on the board at our 3rd round pick than the collection of crap we already had on the roster.

Too soon to say, Green might replace Free next year or the following and become another pillar on this line..

Hindsight much

Are you arguing we didn't draft to our board?

Are you actually upset that the team drafted an offensive tackle before a running back?

Silly @Risen Star. Tricks are for kids.
