Cowboys Set To Work Out Four Veteran QBs - J.Johnson, M Flynn, C.Ponder and McLeod Bethel-Thompson

why do so many people trust Flynn and Ponder over Weeden?
Grass is always greener?
None of them are good. But Weeden has been here, learning the offense, and working with the guys. Weeden is who we'll roll with, and we should.

Agreed. And who knows, maybe he learned something from the last time he was our starter. They say you learn from your mistakes, right? If that's the case, then Weeden could get a doctorate from that prior experience. LOL. He does have a live arm, I'll give him that.

Idk I trust Moore cause he knows he system and we are looking for a back up for Weeden people making it seem like we looking for someone to play ahead of Weeden, now if Weeden plays poor then consider but as of now just need a veteran who will be capable of coming in Incase of Weeden being hurt.

the Cowboys will take a look at four veterans in Christian Ponder, Matt Flynn, Josh Johnson and McLeod Bethel-Thompson.

Flynn has done exactly what this team needs a QB to do right now. When Rodgers broke his collarbone, Flynn kept a playoff team afloat going 2-2-1. That is exactly what we need someone to do for us until romo gets back. I don't think anyone is saying to sign him and start him this week. Of course Weeden is going to get the first chance to be the guy. If he fails, there needs to be another option and Flynn has done it before and not that long ago.

Not sure why Weeden is on the roster if we're scrambling for a backup the moment Romo goes down. I would hope these guys are being brought in just to backup Weeden.

All of these names scare me. And how is McLeod Bethel-Thompson a veteran QB? Has he ever even started a regular season game??

If Flynn/Ponder/Johnson don't work out well, Moore will move to active roster and MBT may end up on practice squad.

Agreed. Flynn has been the consummate backup, having had gigs with several teams, and having a good level of O & D expertise and reliability.

Would fit what we need right now. I still remember that December game 2 years ago when he led GB back from a 26-3 halftime deficit to beat the 'Boys 37-36. He had 5 consecutive TD drives in the second half, throwing 4 TD passes.

Because we don't have a backup for the backup.

You should be questioning why Kellen Moore is on the roster if anything.

Correct...that's why I just lmao at the gif of the guy crying. It's enough to make a grown man cry. Damn Tony, why didn't you just throw the ball away? Been screaming for years at him to do that consistently. Not always a play to be made. Manning and Brady just throw it 15 yards outta bounds...hardly ever grounding. Sigh.....

And that's what i'm hoping. But many here believe Flynn/Ponder would start in a eek or 2.

Who in the world is that law firm name guy? Never heard of him......

Didn't Ponder take the Vikings to the playoffs a couple years back?

Jerry Jones on whether one gets signed: "Not necessarily."

Jerry giving Weeden some love on the radio. Throwing the ball is a "thing of beauty", or something along those lines.

Weeden does throw a pretty ball at all levels. The issue is can they make his reads easy enough to limit mistakes in seeing the field?

I don't think either can unseat Weeden. Just want a guy like Ponder or Flynn(gags) over a guy like Showers or even Moore, in case Weeden slips on a banana peel.

Bethel-Thompson was awful with Miami. Awful is putting it nicely too.

Hard to throw the ball away when you don't have control of the ball.
