Jerry Jones: Christine Michael offers a "different dimension"

CMike plays on defense?

A ball-control offense helps our defense, like it did last year. We need that ESPECIALLY until we can get Hardy, Ro and Gregory back.
So this Saints game is critical because it's one we should win as long as we control the clock and the pace of the game.

Dunbar is essentially a receiver so you're right.

Yep, I think Dunbar has all of about two carries so far and I don't see his workload in that area increasing.

Before the Atlanta game, nobody even knew who Devonta Freeman was, and for the people who knew who he was, kept telling us how the Atlanta running game would be non existent with him instead of their rookie, now Christine Michael is being compared to him? I see how this works now.

lol me and @pugilist were on here last week telling everyone freeman is no joke.

This team will remain behind the eight-ball as long as Weeden presides at QB. I just hope our backups are getting fully indoctrinated with our offensive schemes. Something tells me it's just a matter of time before Mr. Weeden becomes a former starting QB for the Cowboys. He's simply too limited, despite what the staff says.

Sorry, not too impressed. Is he physical, yeah, but not overly . Vision, average. Fast, again average at best. His role, maybe short yardage. I really don't see an upgrade. Randle showed well last game and Dmac needs more touches, but of course if the defense isn't made to play honest by a pass threat it won't much matter who the rb is.

Its the total package. Hes physical and can punish defenders (like marion barber). He will get you the third and twos or third and goals. Hes the hammer whereas randle, dunbar, and mcfadden are screwdrivers. The upgrade is the physicality, the " beast" that he brings. Intimidation

Is this what we are reduced to?

Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio.
- Tony Romo

Anyone can run behind this line!
- Cowboyszone

Adrian Peterson is done.
- Cowboyszone

There is a reason no one signed Chris Johnson.
- Cowboyszone

Yea we may get to see a few carries from Christine Michael.

:flagwave:

Hopefully we wont be disappointed about how CM plays. I just don't see him as the next great RB, I hope I am wrong.

Not too impressed with who? Michael? He hasn't played a down yet...

wow this guys has some choice words being used to refer to him. sounds like some scifi horror flick language.

Falling to 2-2 means our season is over?

Certainly not, but when you start 2-0 and lose the next two games which, in my opinion, were two of the more winnable games until Romo comes back, it does not look good. I mean if we can't beat a struggling Saints team then what are the chances we beat:

Week 5 - New England (unlikely)
Week 7 - NY Giants (50-50 but winnable)
Week 8 - Seattle (unlikely)
Week 9 - Tampa Bay (winnable)

I know the return of Romo, Bryant and all the guys on defense will get us back on track but we cant afford to dig the hole too deep. If we are sitting at 3-5 after the stretch above (not unrealistic) we have a tall mountain to climb to make the playoffs. I feel better at 4-4 and pretty happy at 5-3.

If we go 4-4 or 4-3 with Weeden at quarterback, we should all be dancing in the streets. I think two to three is more realistic, and I don't think we'll be out of the race if that happens. It's entirely possibly the division can be won at 9-7 or 10-6.

Agreed I think 3 is the likely # unless our defense plays lights out going fwd? I personally would start Dmac and bring Randall in for relief, Dmac is a bigger load and has not gotten enough carries. Bring 4 rb's to the game or sit Dunbar and let Dmac or Randall take over that role...I think they can both catch as well as Dunbar...at least Dmac can.

Yes he has, in Seattle which has a good o-line too.

Well, I was with you all the way up until you said Seattle has a good offensive line. Which isn't true. Not even close.

Their OL has been playing like ****. Losing Unger has really hurt that unit.

Still I agree about Michael. In his time in Seattle, I wasn't too impressed with his run instincts, vision, etc.

Hopefully, he surprises me and lights things up in Dallas.

2 carries thus far this season for Dunbar? I wonder when we're going to start referring to him as what he is. A glorified slot receiver.

They're saying his snaps were reduced in Thursday's practice relative to Wed's practice. Not sure that means anything, though.

This is a good week to elevate him, though. Bad running defense, and we're going to want to make a statement and take pressure off the QB. He's been here long enough to know what time it is, and if he misses a protection everybody would be happy and not mad.

Hmmm...maybe this is the week they start getting Collins some reps at RT?

"Go ahead and give it a shot, kid. What's the worst that can happen?"

Hopefully Randle if anyone

Randle had several outstanding runs and scored three TDs on Sunday. He didn't do much later but when your QB won't throw downfield or outside the tackle box even, then the D is sort of at an advantage in the run stopping department.
