I've never seen such a drastic change in a player. Ultimate positive team guy, and then completely unpredictable and paranoid malcontent. And for really no reason.

He could have had some mental disorder that was dormant up until the last several years, and maybe something triggered it to the surface. I'm no psychiatrist through.

None of those guys have anything "severe" - Spellman had drug and alcohol problems and refused to take medicine. Most severe cases are poorly controlled by medicine or require drugs that make football largely impossible

Spellman was wandering the streets of Chicago bare naked and threatened to kill kimself in an eight-hour standoff with police.

PCP is a hell of a drug.

Why? Was Jerry thinking about throwing another bad contract at him?

Just linking the two, but I think it was when his grandparents passed.. He was ever so grateful for Jerry Jones for lending his plane for him to handle his family business. And then it was all downhill from there.

That's what I've always assumed it was. Fans tend to get a little myopic and think that for something to be affecting a player it has to be football related, but players are people too. Something that traumatic happening in his personal life could easily be affecting him.

Yes. Because he wouldn't take his meds. If you can control your illness with meds, it is not severe.

Exactly. Same for Ratliff. He needs help.

Ratliff needs help true. But we don't know if he has a diagnosed mental health problem. What I believe just based on all the incidents is that he's an alcoholic, at least.

We've all heard of the stories of former disgruntled employees returning to their former place of employment to reek havoc on their former employer with a gun. I pray Valley Ranch isn't a gun free zone.

It's still in Texas right? Yeah I doubt it's gun free lol

If I had to put money on it, this guy's brain has been addled by concussions.

It didn't help him that he was allowed and encouraged to develop an extreme sense of entitlement with Wade as the Head Coach. Once guys are allowed to do whatever they want, it's very difficult to ever put the Genie back in the bottle so to speak.
