How do you like your steaks?

Ribeye medium cooked with a salad and loaded baked potato.

Medium-rare, a little salt and pepper, done.

Well-done steaks, and the goopy obnoxious sauces that people put on them to make them palatable are a crime against the cow that died to make that leathery meal possible.

Anyone ordering a well done steak is disrespecting the animal that gave up its life.

I order medium rare steaks, but medium burgers.

Boneless Rib Eye, well marbled, cooked medium. Sear each side in a screaming hot cast iron pan for approx two minutes per side to develop a nice exterior crust. Then put a large dollop of butter on top of the steak and put the cast iron pan into a 500 degree oven for another two minutes. Perfection. Bear in mind that the cooking time will vary depending upon the thickness of the steak.

Well done. Sorry not well done. Burn my meat, burn it good. I like char and nothing else. Okay now you can crucify me

Years ago I worked with a crew of 5 (myself included). Four of the guys ate their steaks well-well done as you described. I ate mine medium rare. We all looked at each other with disdain. I couldn't understand why they would overdo a piece of meat like that and they couldn't understand how I could eat meat that was so "bloody".

I go with the 20oz Sirloin myself. Love that place.

Filet Mignon is my favorite steak. Any soft cuts like that I get medium rare, or I go medium rare at any actual steak restaurant.
If I'm just ordering a steak from any ol' restaurant (Chili's, Fridays, etc), I always go medium.

Gimmie Filet or Flank, and i'm good to go.

As for A1 sauce. A1 sauce is awesome, just not on my steak.

Medium or medium well. They usually undercook when I order medium and overcook when I do MW. I usually order MW because I'd rather have slightly overcooked than undercooked. Undercooked is tough and has less flavor IMO.

And I like ketchup. A-1 is disgusting.

I maybe eat one steak every three of four months. If I eat one out with my wife I order it well done. If I am by myself I eat it med well. She cant handle blood running on the plate. The one time I ate boiled crawfish in front of her, I had to go get my own table on the other side of the restaurant. The things you sacrifice for love.....

The best steaks around here have a little MSG seasoning.....Might be bad for you but the taste is awesome....

Kind of the same with me, minus the MW-W part. My girlfriend(now wife) could not eat a steak if it was even pink inside, had to be "cooked". Also, she hated seafood and one night we went to Joes Crabshack because I was craving their BBQ Dungeness crab. She sat at the bar while I ate  She still can't/won't eat crawfish but likes shrimp and halibut now.......loves it along with the crab! Oh, she complains when her steak is over Medium too.

A side note for those who may not know:

That is not actual blood coming out of your under-cooked steak, so no need to get freaked out!

Yeah, ditto on the blood thing..hate when I hear, eww it's bloody. I've found after grilling if you just microwave it for a minute no more pink, for the picky folks...ahem, women..ducks

Rare or medium rare. Preferably rib-eye.
Had an amazing steak in Florence, Italy a few weeks ago. Steak Florentine was a local speciality. A half kilo of rare t-bone served with one small lettuce leaf and a slice of blood orange. Best meal I've had all year and no I didn't eat the leaf.
In saying that I really enjoy my own 3 cheese steak. Take a minute or frying steak lay it flat and grate some cheese on top then crumble some blue cheese and pour some hot sauce on it. Roll it up and grill it. Spoon some cottage cheese over it and lots of cracked pepper.
