Funny how sports have become the right of passage for morality. Take a look at the NFL Arrest list and understand how many games/owners should be held accountable. Riley Cooper is not on that list but his mistake should be.

Hardy's action/involvement has resulted with an NFL punishment.

Some groups should be angered that money apparently won over the opportunity to settle this transgression fully and properly. And since it didn't.....I'm ok with Jerry giving this guy a second chance.....and only a second chance.

The Jimmy Johnson era had many discretions that enabled "The White House", but it didn't stop the cheering. Jerry and JIMMY didn't seem to be too shaken. I had no problem with the Super Bowls either.

Let's all pump the breaks.....domestic violence is not appropriate at all, but sometimes second chances are. Given the circumstances known (failure to show up in court)......******** ain't a circumstance, months later, when greased palms already have been.

I'm gonna take a lot of heat for saying this on a Cowboys board as a Giants fan but so be it. Not trolling or hating the Cowboys. But God has a plan.

Carolina 7-0
Cowboys 2-5

Was it worth it Cowboys? I am disgusted

Lawrence Taylor, was he worth it Shun?

So I'm here to sum up 20 pages because yes, I read them all.

1. Some are sure he's a vicious criminal who doesn't deserve a second chance, despite the fact others in our society do get a second chance.

2. Others offer some support and say the victim in the case deserves at least some blame.

3. And some don't have much stake in it and just know they want their team to win and he helps.

4. No one has any proof or facts to back up their position except the ones who thinks he helps us win.
Possibly.

As I've pointed out in another post, a few other players who have been accused/convicted of DV were given a second chance by other teams, and no one even knows who they are. Media, sports fans....no one has so much as batted an eye about them. It's hypocritical.

Once again, I feel compelled to point out: I am not defending Greg Hardy.

But if it's domestic violence everyone is outraged about, one would think the same amount of scrutiny, outrage, media print and web stories, etc. would be devoted to these other players and teams on that list.

Otherwise, it looks like everyone is just always trying to find something to pick on the Dallas Cowboys about. (NO! Say it isn't so!!)

I suppose ESPN could always take a stand and refuse to cover the Cowboys while Hardy is on the team. After all, they want Jerry to take a stand that weakens his business. But not even a single reporter on their staff will do so.

That would mean making an actual sacrifice for their phony values, as opposed to making money by reporting on it.

Then dated my mother.
Then won the lottery one week after they broke up.

Some people are just plain lucky.
I mean: he got to date my mom!

Was it powerball, or just one of those scratchers?

He won something like 25 million, maybe 28... whatever, it was pretty big. I remember reading that he sent checks for like $100,000 to a small number of people (family, close friends) along with a note saying that was all they'd get so don't ask.

Someone has kept saying that holder had contradictory statements made. Anyone know what those were. Dependingnon what they are, i could buy that she had damaged herself and tried to sell it as abuse. I have pretty much assumed he was guilty all along but i could change my mind. Those pictures dont really change anything for me. The drama around them does not match up with what you see in the pictures though. Media gon media.

The reporters on ESPN are acting like Hardy is satan himself. They were like "Just a warning... the photos you are about to see are very, VERY graphic." ...and they weren't even that bad. It looked like the woman fell off her swing at the playground and got a couple scratches. And isn't there no evidence that he even attacked her? All I know is that the girl was heavily drugged and Hardy made the 911 call. Sounds like the crazy chick probably injured herself. But this doesn't even change anything because The NFL already saw these photos.

so when pics were released those people acting like the world is finna end because he's playing ... what were they expecting based off what the report said months ago? im glad jerry sticking buy him honestly

I wasn't there and am not gonna pretend like I was. That's between Hardy and that crazy chick. She took the money and refused to cooperate later. If she was beat down as bad as everyone is making out to be then she shouldn't have taken the money and instead testify against him. She didn't and instead cashed out.
One thing I have gathered is if she was thrown around and beat to hell why was she going after him when he was on the phone with 911. I know if someone beat my arse down and was his size I sure as hell wouldn't continue going after him.

Remember that these statements she made in that article are made to the police. Her testimony was completely different in the Bench Trial. So who knows what is true?

That was why the prosecutor refused to go forward to the Jury Trial... because he would have had to testify that he believed Holder's comments to be true and he didn't want to base his reputation on what she said.

As far as the pictures, I expected bruising like that. If you've never been with a girl who goes off the deep end, you probably don't understand how they can create a lot of those bruises themselves by attacking you.

I knew she would have a big bruise on her elbow because she drove her elbow back into the face of hardy's friend.

We still don't know what happened, I'm not saying we do... but if it did go down exactly like Hardy and his friend said it did... she would have bruising just like that in the pictures.

Anyone who thinks Hardy did nothing wrong is an idiot. What he did was terrible, and if his former girlfriend had cooperated, he wouldn't be playing for anyone. Opinion--those bruises are probably not from hours of abuse; more likely from being thrown on top of the guns and roughed up a bit there...still terrible.

That said, People make mistakes in all walks of life, and without a conviction, without a witness who wants to press charges, without any criminal history and no repeat offense, they don't lose their jobs. The NFL suspended him for ten games; an arbiter reduced it to four; he never fought it, but served it. I believe in second chances, and I'm happy he's a Cowboy...right now. If he gets in trouble again, he will be dead to me and likely forfeit his right to participate in his career. Ray Lewis and plenty of Hall of Fame players had histories as bad or worse. They were also given second chances.

Allowing a guy to work is not the same thing as condoning his crime/mistake. The only reason Rice isn't working right now is because he sucks and has little value. A man or woman who abuses his/her spouse does a reprehensible thing, but that has been part of the human existence forever, and the person isn't exiled from his/her career as a plumber, a salesman, or a banker. Society even goes out of its way to find jobs for convicted criminals upon release from prison, knowing that work is essential to existence and recovery. Make no mistake, playing football in the NFL is a job. Whether or not fans honor, glamorize, celebrate, or embrace the player is on the fan. The man or woman has a right to participate in his/her career, IMO.

Repeat offenses or other bad behavior, like with other offenses like theft, drugs, alcoholism, etc. changes everything. My personal decision is that I would never wear a Hardy jersey any more than I would fly the confederate flag from my pickup truck, but I support freedom and second chances, and I hope Hardy is successful in Dallas and in becoming a better person in control of himself.

On a slightly different point, let's not forget that when a prosecutor decides not to prosecute a case, it doesn't mean he doesn't believe a crime was committed. He has a responsibility to his office, the state, and taxpayers. Sometimes it just means he doesn't think he can win the case.
