News: Sturm: Why you shouldn't check out on the 2-6 Cowboys

Giants = 5-4
Eagles =4-4

Both still have the Patriots on the schedule. 95% thats another loss for each. Putting them both at at least 5 losses. That means, outside of the Patriots, for them to get to 9-7 the Giants have to go 4-2 in the other games. For the Eagles, they have to go 5-2. I'm don't feel like looking up the tiebreaker possibilities, but 8-8 is easily still enough to be in contention. Just need a win to next week to give Romo a little breathing room.

I have put up my Cowboy coat in the closet.I personally think they all go, Romo, coach, coordinators, start over with the draft.Witten needs to go and take Sean Lee and the MLB and some others with them.The window if it was ever there has closed.I have moved on, I have taken to working second job and traveling.Check back in next year.God bye my friends, hey the NBA is going.

When did Sturm go on the Cowboys payroll?

C'mon, now. He's one of the most reasonable media writers in the profession. He writes for the Dallas News and posts frequently, as a service to us on site, here.

UP front, he stated that he is not a fatalist. Hence, he won't give a purely negative view until there is a journey by the team past the point of no return.

Care to own up to that same standard yourself?

You know what practice consists of right? I'd say just a little different than live action.

You really think Romo forgot how to read a defense? You think he forgot how his recievers like the ball? You think he forgot how to adjust protection? His brain isn't hurt and Romo has showed he can play after missing time but go ahead with your agenda and when he throws TDs against Miami you will see

Witten needs to stay. He made some tough 3rd catches for a first. Talk about most other players leaving but Witten isn't one of them

I've checked out.

I'll still watch on TV, but any high emotion from me will be non existent.

What the hell? I don't even know where to start.

Why in God's name would we let the best tight end of all time who's still playing at a high level walk? On pace for 88 catches and 808 yards receiving despite playing with the two worst quarterbacks in the league. Romo is clealry the MVP of the league. No way you can justify cutting him. Wow just wow.

LOL agenda? I have no agenda against Romo, I have defended him since day one. Common sense tells me that not being in live action coming off another injury and being a year older might slow him down a bit in his first game back. To me he didn't look great in the first two games.
I hope he can save the season but he can't do it alone.

And any credibility you have just ran out of the door, down the street and jumped straight into a tire fire. How you can watch the QB play the last 6 games and say Romo needs to go should baffle anyone who watched this losing streak.

As Parcells would say "you been sucked" I think.

I guess it depends on what "checking out" means.

I think every fan holds out hope that we somehow get in, but most are probably checking out emotionally because the odds are extremely slim at this point.

I don't think anyone can objectively say it's not going to require a miracle at this point so you can't really blame fans of the team for allowing themselves a little self preservation.

I was thinking the same thing.

Define 'checking out'? If it means to stop watching the games? Absolutely not. I've got the disease too bad for that to ever happen.

If it means having had enough of the 'shock the world' and 'wait until next week' nonsense? Then yeah, absolutely I've 'checked out' on that noise!

:lmao:

The game at Tampa is my cut off line. If we win, I'll still believe we have a chance. If we lose then just get ready for next season. It's that simple, cut and dry for me.

No you haven't, you are here so you haven't checked out. This is the place for fanatics that can't check out even if they type the words. Next Sunday you will be watching the game like every Sunday and you will visit this site like you do after every game.

You don't frequent a Cowboys message board if you have the ability to check out.
They got us my friend. Each and every one of us.

oh no, "I can't quit you!".

All things being equal over the last six, except we have Romo, we win every one of them except maybe the Pats game. I see no reason we can't win out once he comes back. So yeah maybe we still miss the playoff, but it will come down to probably the last week. It will still be an exciting final stretch, So no I'm not checked out!
