Wentz looks very good. But he is one of 5 QB's in the first 2 rounds. I think if we can get any of them, it will be good.
Goff, Lynch, Cook, Hackenberg, Wentz.

INT by Wentz towards the end of the half. Great play by the DB, but still shows Wentz's inconsistency with the deep ball, one of his biggest knocks from scouts.

Here we go again with predicting QBs going higher than they actually will

This board was borderline unanimous that Manziel was going top 5 and many said #1 overall.
This board--especially about this time of year before the draft--had a HUGE number of Teddy Bridgewater 1st overall guys.
I'm pretty sure--especially in the fall last year--that a ton around here had Bryce petty going in the top 10 or 15. look it up.
Geno Smith early on the year before that too.

Maybe someone should start a poll a get everyone on record that thinks Wenzel is going top 5.

I will say this; if our scouts like someone that much and aren't reaching (whether is Goff, Lynch, Wentz or whoever) I'm fine with them following their scouting.

I may not personally like some players they take, but you have to follow through will all the work put in.

Goff and Lynch are not even in Wentz's zipcode, this kid is miles better than both of them. He can run, pass
zip the ball into tight spaces. He has it all and the other two are just looking at him shine through the window.

Considering he's missed the last 3 months though, pretty great half by Wentz who isn't showing many signs of rust. NDSU up big at half.

You know how it is this time of year DFWJC one QB is going to be valued over others from a fan's perspective you're right that QBs can fall throughout this drafting process and Wentz can drop down the draft boards but like I said to another poster in this thread that if Dallas covet Wentz, in the 1st at 4 then they take him the coaching staff will have front row seats to see him perform and Wentz will not be the only QB they will look at as there will be other QBs there at the Senior Bowl even from the opposing team so it's not a forgone conclusion that Wentz will be that guy drafted as the mercurial TO once said get your popcorn ready because the draft will be a show with the Cowboys being one of the main characters.

It doesn't matter what we say really, our scouts had Manziel rated as a first rd guy but Jerry got overruled.this time it may be different

i like him a lot, reminds me though a bit of Alex Smith who took a long time and the right system to succeed but eventually worked to become a quality starter now (although I will note I think Wentz could have more upside than Smith). Neither Wentz's WRs nor the quality of DBs he is facing is very high. Although Wentz is doing great today, he'd NEVER get away with some of those throws at the next level.
Goff, to me, looks a lot more ready to play at the next level.
My draft strategy would be to sit at 4 and see if Goff is still available. If not, I'm trading down for Elliott and then trying to get back into the late first if Wentz is still available.
Outside of Lynch, Goff, and Wentz, I wouldn't take a QB this draft.

Beautiful throw on the out. Hardest throw to make.
