So he's not a good enough player for us to take, despite it being a position of need, yet if the giants get him he will become this great player? I don't get the logic.

He's good enough, I just want another position. It's not complicated.

This draft sucks at the top. There's no great players. Everybody knows it. So let's trade down for a bounty of high end picks. Why am I the only one who can figure this out?!

I would love to see this happen, but I have an aching suspicion that most teams feel the same way that you do about the top of the draft. Trade partners may be scarce.

While the value isn't there, I'd be happy to pick him. I understand the cap ramifications. But if he is what everyone is expecting it will be hard to say it's a bad pick. My nightmare is him going to the giants. Of course I'd rather have a trade down and add some picks while still drafting Elliot and paying him less, but who knows if that's possible.

I think Zeke is amazing, and that would be the worst pick of all time unless the top three picks are Wentz, Ramsey, and Jack. Even then, you trade.

I read this site all the time but hardly ever post. I felt compelled to here being from Columbus. Having watched every one of his games I think this would be a great pick for the Cowboys. Lots of question marks at the top of this draft but not with Zeke. Great kid and hard runner. Not only that but he is a good pass blocker which will help keep Romo's jersey clean. I completely understand wanting to go for defense but I would argue that the impact Zeke has at moving chains and keeping the defense off the field would almost outweigh the impact a first year defensive player would make. I would love the pick.

Taking bosa over Zeke :/.. Bosa has more bust potential. Zeke would give us the best rushing attack in the league

While he's no Gurley, Zeke may heat the league up and Dallas could be one of, if not the hottest spot to land for the RB to set a blaze.

I'm in the fire and brimstone with Elliot @#4, to hell with Bozo.

That name reminded me of all the Taylor Mays hype several years ago..

It's almost time for that "Where are they now" thread.:D

Who is Bozo?

We're all bickering over which conversion project fits best (Ramsey or Jack) or which LDE is less blah (Buckner or Bosa), meanwhile we will have two surefire offensive playmakers available at our pick (Zeke and Treadwell) that will immediately and in the long-term improve our team.

I think he's going to be the BPA and a combination of Billings, Crawford, and Lawrence is a great young core to build around. If Gregory can get his stuff together, that's a line that can compete with the Bengals, Panthers, Broncos etc.

DE may be more of a need and Jack is interesting, but even Kuechly has a top 15 pick and a high 2nd rounder at DT in front of him, and a talented pass rusher at end.

I think Billings is one of the best players in this draft and he's only 20. He's like the DT version of Tyron.

Oh, for my real preference, it would be TWO defensive tackles in the first two rounds, really. That just won't come down the pike for our Cowboys.

As to Billings, I'm a fan...only with current needs, defensive end is still more important...but obviously, not to both of us.

Trading back is not some gimmie.

Look at the debates around here.

Nobody is certain about the talent. So what makes you think someone wants to trade up?

I can't recall a draft where you couldn't even pick our three to five blue chippers by this point. Everybody has legitimate holes.

True, but this is a unique situation that the Cowboys can capitalize on. Dangling a chance at picking a QB that someone will jump at, could get you an extra second round pick. You'd think the Texans, Niners, Rams, Bills, or even the Jets would see a guy like Goff as an upgrade. I'm sure they will at least put out feelers.

An extra second rounder that could add a quality DL, CB, LB or WR.

JJT doesn't watch the games and practices. He hasn't for a long time. He shimmies up to people and tries the schmooze.

Looking to him for player evaluation is a waste of time. Unnamed sources are his bread and butter.
