Fact he was not being defended at the combine. Fact he had a total of 17 catches for his college career. Fact every over hyped bama back to come out of the draft has either failed as the bellcow, not lived up to combine/bama stats, is injury prone, and in every case is nothing more than a RBBC back; fact. I am not a fan of Bama backs based on the facts once they become a NFL RB. All of them excelled at bama and the combine and were considered "freaks" of nature. I want a bellcow not a RBBC. Will Henry be different, who knows, but the fact Ingram, Trich, Lacy, and Yeldon have all underachieved their own projected pre draft status I would prefer going in another direction. Give me Booker over him at least Booker has a true 3 down resume.

every bama back also didn't have Romo as there qb and an established elite oline like ours either

im projecting based upon how that player fits with our team Alabama does pretty much exactly what JG wants to do except we actually have a QB that's what I think most people are missing he did that with a new qb still lead them to the ship bro don't discount that

idk if Booker can handle 25+ a game he cool but I def believe Henry can and he always seems to put that dagger in a defense at end of games because they tired of hitting him that's a big dude that can run.....

your projecting while I am going off of history with bama backs and what is being reported about henry ...really doesnt matter at this point with morris on board...by the way i also think Brees is on par with Romo and Luck, Bortels, and Rodgers are pretty darn good QBs in their own right...you won't change my mind when it comes to a bama back.only henry can do that over time not just one or two decent years. .even Mayock said yesterday the other knock on henry despite his lack of passing stats is he is a very upright runner who will most likely not have a very long nfl career....I just want an elite RB not a good one or one that is part of a committee...give me a true bellcow

could be and booker is an older guy as well..again just going off of history with these bama backs..they don't excel at the nfl level when given the rock 20 plus times..still projecting...time will tell and if they choose henry i will be just like i am with the morris signing...i may not agree from the sofa but I will still be cheering them on regardless of who is there..i just don't like bama backs past, present, or future until they prove they can live up to the hype

Mayock said the same thing about AP. Too upright for the pro game.

EE is the closest thing to a bell cow as we're gonna get.

Henry has a lot of upside and would be a far cheaper get.

Yes he did but Henry is not All Day nor is he a consensus top five pick or a consensus 3 down back..No way I can put Henry in the same class as All day.

Q. You haven't said much about Adrian Peterson. How concerned are you about his injury history?

MIKE MAYOCK: That's the question. You put it right on the head. That's really the only question. Most people think he's going to be a top five pick. A lot of people think Cleveland is where he's going to end up. He's got that upright running style which means you're probably going to take a pounding, and he has. The amazing thing is, he and Marshawn Lynch are both juniors, but he has a couple hundred more carries. When he played, they gave him the ball 20, 25, 30 times. Marshawn Lynch comes out of a two-tailback system. Adrian, rest-taking ability, but is he going to be durable enough to take the pounding in the NFL? I heard he's going to weigh in at about 214 pounds. He's a cut, lean guy that reminds me of Dickerson from a couple years ago. 214 is pretty light for a guy that tall. I think he's probably there because he wants to run the best 440 you can. You compare him with Marshawn Lynch who is going to be 230 something and caught four times as many passes in his career who is probably going to run in the 4.4s at 230 pounds. I think the whole running back thing is going to be to get rekindled after the combine. Adrian Peterson is a consensus top five pick.

That's Elliott he's elite.. what elite rb is gonna be in 3rd 4th round that you can guarantee will be elite? So henry was carrying the ball 30 plus times in some games he is a true bell cow to which baffles me even more but ok....

bellcow = 3 down back he never comes off the field...bama backs do not=this at the nfl level over an extended period of time..a game or two or even close to a full year but for three straight years..heck even two..they have failed to live up to the hype

There are guys that went in the 4th last year that would have starred behind the Cowboys OL. Shoot the FA (Thomas Rawls) the Cowboys thought they had and got stolen by the seahawks would have starred in Dallas.

That's an extremely rare thing in the DIV 1 college game. Most Div 1 colleges employ RBBC and you have to include the QB in that as well because most Div 1 college offenses run their QBs.

You're simply bias against Bama RBs and history is on your side. I was in that crowd and still am. However, after doing a lot of research and watching game film. I came to this conclusion: Henry's not a one dimensional back whatsoever. He's an accomplished blocker and can be counted on in the receiving game. The guy is a beast that can flat out run and run people over. Tape don't lie.

That said, I still think EE is the most complete back to come out of college since AD.

exactly why you cant assume any standout will excel at the next level...nothing but a crap shoot..in this case there is undeniable history with bama backs not living up to pre draft expectations or college stats...henry is the only one who can change my mind and it will have to be over time not one game, half a season, string in 3 good years as a versatile 3 down back and I will be the first to stand and claim my opinion on henry was wrong...until then i stand firm with my opinion as it relates to a bama back

hard not to be bias with a bama back based on their own track record

(Rawls )IF he would have gotten the chance..... idk if he would have had the same opportunities here like he did in Seattle honestly.. we say he cld have been here but would he have gotten a shot to actually play idk ... hindsight id say yes but knowing this team and how you have to know everything before they put you in the field I just d/k about that with Rawls

Labeling guys based on past players performances is straight crazy. You have to look at each player individually.

Crazy because I have my own sound fact based opinion? There is nothing different with me basing my opinion on past backs from bama, reading what scouts/nfl draft experts are saying about Henry; than the pro henry group basing his greatness off of projected stats from college. I didn't claim your opinion was crazy i just dont agree with it in this particular case.

your quotes would reflect you are..."However, after doing a lot of research and watching game film. I came to this conclusion: Henry's not a one dimensional back whatsoever. He's an accomplished blocker and can be counted on in the receiving game. The guy is a beast that can flat out run and run people over. Tape don't lie." That same tape has others saying he will still be a one dimensional back and that is where my opinion stands..it appears your's is on the other side. Either way probably best to debate this in the draft zone and not the Robinson thread.
