This has to stop. Right now.

We have met more with him than any other QB in this draft class. It is very frightening.

Can I pre-order a Prescott jersey today?

It's almost inevitable that this guy is going to be on our roster in two weeks.

The tiny, naïve part of me hopes this is just a backup plan in case Wentz falls through but the larger, cynical part of me realizes the Prescott love could be the reason the Cowboys pass on a QB earlier.

Oh, Dallas making a move back into the First Round! Dallas trades their 2nd and 3rd round pick for Pick 32 and select Rayne "Dak" Prescott.

In all seriousness, I think he's going to be our third round selection.

Someone is in Jerry's ear whispering, 'Prescott can be like Cam Newton'

that happens a lot and not just with QB's.

TE's and New England
going back to 4-3 like Seattle plays

"see tail wag, chase tail in circles" aka The Cowboy Way.

This is 100% exactly right.

The Cowboys are actively looking for a bargain. They've convinced themselves that this bargain is a good deal and as result, have also convinced themselves that the top QBs are are not a good idea.

Here's the likely thought process, and logical error that we're making: If Prescott can be a good QB, then we can take him in round 2 or 3 and not have to use 4 on a QB. Therefore, the QBs at 4 are not good QBs.

Pretty much. I think Dallas really, really wants Ramsey, Bosa, or to trade down.

Probably. But this QB class is pretty weak. There are plenty of questions surrounding Cook, Hackenburg may already have David Carr syndrome. He'll go higher than he deserves, but most QB's that are draftable usually do. Disregarding my own personal opinion on the player, I don't think they'll risk losing him in the 3rd round if they actually like him.

I can hear it now ... with the #34th pick of the second round, the Dallas Cowboys select ... :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

They see it as the perfect compromise because they are trapped by their own silliness in thinking Romo is the QB for the next 4-5 years without question.

Prescott allows them to think they've secured their Romo safety net all the while keeping their premium picks to use on players that will hopefully strengthen the team around Romo.

Almost a wasted pick since most starting QBs come from the 1st RD. But if Carson Goff is not there, it's a good idea to take a developmental guy.

In the words of John Fogerty, it aint me.

Typically, Jerry relies on old friends, former players and key 'advisors' (Lacewell!) in making decisions. I'm not aware of any connections to Mississippi St. There must be one.

Remember the sole reason we drafted Murray was because Barry Switzer? That one turned out alright, but that's the influence that friends of Jerry have on him
