I'm done with over-analyzation

The draft has been over-analyzed ad-nausium.
The players have been raised by 40 times and reduced by 40 times.
College kids have been labeled safe because we don't know everything; others have been labeled risky because they partied. Fans, draft pundits, and media darlings have moved from ratings to trying to guess where players will go and back to rankings again. So much changes from every angle based on draft season rumors. I love the draft, but I'm almost sick of it.

Back to basics. Based on rankings since last year, and based on being the best player at a critical position, his age, etc.......

Draft Joey Bosa, DE

If he is the next Adam Vinatieri, yes. Otherwise, it's highly likely he isn't the BPA.

Analysts are saying 2nd - 3rd round. Nothing is for certain with any prospect. He could bust just like anyone else. But if you have him a grade of 88 and the next best player was 86, you'd take the K?

You are basically correct. It's hilarious how many will lol when it's suggested that a team draft 'so-and-so' because of a rating or ranking. But it never fails... A LOT of guys that are highly ranked, bust. And a lot of guys barely ranked, succeed at ridiculously high levels. It's just fun... especially for the I-told-you-so's... Like me. ;)

There's a K projected to go in the 3rd. If he's BPA in the 4th, would you take him?

"Done correctly" is the key phrase

BPA is based on the team's specific board.
BPA is not absolute but by groupings (or tiers)

Anyway, I have a hard time imagining Dallas having a K on their board at all, let alone that high.

You take the BPA, but I'm not going to argue with you here. It's been said before by people here that actually understand the talent to value equation. Drafting on need generally provides short term low impact results with the exception of when need and BPA are the same.

I agree. I think you build a team in the trenches. The OLine is set. It is time to take care of the DLine. Drafting another athletic CB/Safety is going to mean very little when you have QBs basically taking a nap in the pocket waiting for the WRs to get open. Marinelli's defense relies on RUSH MEN. That 2014 team that went 12-4 was missing one key ingredient that kept us from going all the way and that was a pass rush. Aaron Rodgers was playing on one leg and we could not find a way to sack him. People want to remember the no-catch by Dez but our defense was just pathetic in the 2nd half of that game and it all started up front. We can take another RB in the 3rd to go along with Morris and McFadden. Get back to pounding the ball on offense and saving Romo from taking hits. Then get after the QB on defense. I've kicked it around going back and forth between Ramsey, Bosa, and Elliott and now I have finally decided that Joey Bosa is my choice. Unfortunately, I think he may be Dallas' 3rd choice behind Ramsey and Elliott.

Bosa or Ramsey is the consensus of boards would tell you to do, both at positions of need. It should be a good thing that BPA matches need.

Some think BPA is black and white gospel, but it's not. Nobody drafts just based on BPA, nor should they. If Gurley is a 98 and Luck is a 97, in a vacuum, you take Luck 100 times out of a 100. If RT happens to be the top rated guy on your board the first 3 rounds, you don't draft 3 RTs in a row.

If Paxton Lynch is the top rated guy on the Colts or Panthers board, they're still not taking him. Just like we're not drafting a K, even if he's BPA.

I would say BPA lies somewhere within the group of Tunsil, Elloit, and Ramsey. I do not believe Bosa fits in that group.

IMO though I have no studied the players, I would go with Tunsil, then Elloit, then Ramsey. The only reason I pick Ramsey last is I question him translating to the NFL level. Though his raw ability is definitely there.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

You still have a couple of days to over analyze.

Can't quit now.
Don't be a quitter.
:p

This statement caused me to disregard the rest of your statement. Why? Because you saying it doesn't make it true. All teams draft BPA sometimes. It's when they don't that they screw up.

So you think a CB/Safety that skyrocketed to the top of some of these

I have a hard time believing that Joey Bosa is not near the top of everyone's draft board when it comes to BPA. It seems like the very, very, very small dip that he may have taken on some of the boards was after the combine. Let's also remember that the combine has caused players to drop that should not have and players to rise should not have. Ramsey is very athletic and has all the tools you would want but his production of having 0 interceptions in 2015 worries me. Heck, even Bosa intercepted a ball last year and knocked a couple of QBs out of the game to boot. Bosa plays nasty and I want a nasty/mean DLine.

That's one way to rationalize a player whose sacks totals declined in his most recent season.

I think he is a good talent. Don't get me wrong. I just think he is a rung down from the other three. I think the others have less holes in their game.

I think we can all agree that we don't need to see any more Ezekiel Elliott threads. After Goff and Wentz were removed from consideration, Elliott was the only other player some obsessed over.
