What Jaylon Smith brings that Myles Jack doesn't

How can you so confidently refute this sir? Many have stated it. Just because we haven't heard it directly from the mouth of hoodie doesn't mean it's not true.

I stand corrected on this too as I was adamant we reached, but talk radio up here among the ex-player talking heads is pretty certain one of the two Pat picks in round 2 was penned in for Smith, and they saw him as a base roving LB and a package pass rusher. Thus the trade after our pick.

Love the player but I wouldn't have taken him or jack at 34. Neither would have fallen to the 3rd.
The risk may very well be worth the reward and he is a special player when healthy
I keep an open mind about every pick. I'm not a my way or the highway guy. I will say at 34 I would not have taken the gamble myself but I see why they did

If both are healthy Jaylon Smith is a better player.

But they aren't healthy...

If the
#Cowboys didn't take #NotreDame LB Jaylon Smith in the 2nd round, the #Patriotswould have. Explains why they dealt 1 2nd rounder

his dip and rip move appears to be unstoppable. nice spin move too.

for those that dont know, if the nerve doesnt heal, there is another procedure that will support the foot, allowing him to play.

With all due respect, it just seems like whenever there's a reach, the "rumor" is that someone was going to nab said player.

Nevertheless, I hope the pick pans out. But I also hope we get some picks today worthy of starting or contributing this year.

With all due respect a rumor has more ground to stand on than anyone here just guessing where he would have been drafted

NFI or IR will be an interesting decision and will tell you a lot about what the doctor thinks about his progress.

Not for me. I think I'd take Jack pre injury. And Smith is a Will, not a Mike for those that keep saying it. He does not shed blocks very well against the run. He ain't really a bulldozing LB. That's Ragland if we wanted that. In fact despite having inferior size, Jack is better at this than Smith. Jack is also better in coverage, though Smith is no slouch there either. I also think Jack has better instincts. They are both similar athletes but Smith has slightly better size for the LB position and perhaps has slightly higher upside if you take the injury issues out of the equation, because some of these things he can improve on, but I don't think there is much in it. Jack is the more polished prospect.

You need to get a clue and read more...The Patriots were all set to get him at the end of the second. We either get him where we did or lose him forever.

Not necessarily at the end of the second either, they have the ammunition that they could have traded ahead of us to grab him.

33 and 61 are 28 draft picks apart if the Pats wanted him, by all accounts we could have took Jack and traded up and still grab Smith using our 3rd and 4th.

I would have loved a draft of Zeke, Smith and Jack.

The more film I watch on him, the more I like him. Hes so quick. Cowboys can play him all over the place.

NFI? Did you mean to say "PUP"? His injury was definitely football-related. If we put him on PUP, that would be the best possible news.

I meant NFI. He didn't suffer an injury while involved in a NFL activity so he's eligible for the NFI. Functionally no different then the PUP other then the fact that on the NFI they don't have to be paid, but I imagine that he will be paid regardless of what list he's on.
