Still waiting for someone to bring a gun to this gun-fight...

why it does no good. There are teams who have gone to SB in recent times who ran the ball more than they threw the ball and their run games are a big part of their offense. Seattle, Carolina 2 recent example but as soon as you point to them and the importance of their running game the subject is changed into "they could defensively stop the passing game" but what is left out of the equation they also are able to shut down running games just as well.

7 years.

Four years, plus a fifth-year option, followed by the franchise tag, followed by another franchise tag.

If he proves elite as hoped, Dallas will give him a second contract at 25 years old anyway. He's not the type to take big shots, so he has a chance to stay healthy like Emmitt did.

A whole 7 years of which 3 years you're paying him huge money.

How long do elite corners last?

RB is a position smart franchises use up and discard. Meanwhile falls blew a top 4 pick and invested huge sums of money.

And get your math right Zeke will be 21 to start the year. 5 years from now he'll be 26 and if everything goes exactly right will just be handed a monster contract that will be wasteful. All so we can "get back to 2014" and the success we had with a mid 3rd round rb on a million dollar deal.

So exciting.

No I won't.

Bring some data that supports your position... Nothing more, nothing less.

It's not that complicated.

If you can't, simply acknowledge that you've been schooled and walk away enlightened. :)

Schooled, that is hilarious Mr President of the A13 fan club

Especially when the formula is more like a recipe of football truths

Pass Well
+ limit Turnovers and Sacks
+ good pass Defense
+ Defensive INTs
+ Defensive Sacks
80% chance of winning..............Duh.....but that also means up to 4 teams a week lose using the secret recipe

You might as well say that teams that lead in the 4th quarter win 80% of the time, so you should try to get the lead by scoring points and limiting your opponent from scoring points

Adam is right.

I always enjoy the "Adam you're wrong" posters.

Adam brings the hardwood in the way of stats.

The "Adam you're wrong" posters will counter with 1,000 word posts that include a lot of football cliché's but no hard data. And of course they'll use terms that can't be quantified...

And then they'll say, "See I've proved my point!"

I'm just wondering who he is in the organization:muttley: He gives me nothing:D

Teams that punt less than their opponents and turn the ball over less than their opponents win over 70% of the time..............sooooo..................passing and rushing are meaningless, just don't punt and go out and create turnovers

Exactly..............the success of this season will depend on Romos health and nothing to do with Zeke. So your claim that Zeke will set the world on fire and take us to the promise land NOW is nothing but BS.

Actually, I think you're wrong simply because having an elite running game, coupled with our Oline, means there's a better chance of Romo staying healthy for the upcoming season. As has AWAYS been said in the NFL, a QB's best friend is a good running game. Notice I didn't say it guaranteed he would remain upright, I merely said it increases the chances and I don't think any sane person would disagree.

How long did Emmitt last? Ladanian Tomlinson? Jerome Bettis? Adrian Peterson? Marshawn Lynch?

A lot longer than 4 years.

It's not for hoe many yards you pass.... People keep forgetting that the correlation with winning isn't how well you pass. The end. It I'd pass effective differential.

Wilson that year didn't throw a lot and was efficient. That defense murdered your passing game making the opponent not efficient. The differential was large and Seattle's favor hence them winning it all.

You didn't read my original post and link provided, which had nothing to do w/passing yardage totals.

I can promise you if seahawks had a do over vs the Pats on 2nd and goal from the 2 they would have ran the ball vs passing the ball and getting picked off. lol
Lynch in those situation is money, seahawks got cute and it cost them

Peyton was 13th? Wilson had a D so talented that it allowed the run heavy structure to be an anomaly; similar to the Ravens in 2000. Denver had a great D this year and below average QB play from Peyton but adequate play from Osweiler to get them to the playoffs. SEA also had bad poor QB play and Denver's D proved to be better. We don't have those defenses...

There's always an excuse when someone is proven wrong.

Did you read the context and progression of the postings? I said we needed Romo in our 2014 run heavy scheme to convert 3rd downs/sustain the run heavy drives and he led the league in efficiency; he's more vital to the team than Zeke for 17' playoff hope/success.

The Horde: YES WE GOT ZEKE!!1!

AdamJT13: Unfortunately, decades' worth of statistical evidence shows that rushing effectiveness has little correlation to winning. *cites said evidence in painstaking detail*

The Horde: That's stoopid! Zeke is da man!

AdamJT13: Elliott may very well be a good player. But his ability to run the ball has little bearing on whether the Cowboys win. The evidence clearly demonstrates that teams win when they pass the ball better than their opponents.

The Horde: Well...that's just your opinion man!

AdamJT13: Actually, that's a fact, not an opinion.

The Horde: But but but running teh ball makes Romo better! Just like in 2014 with Murray!

AdamJT13: There's no correlation between rushing effectiveness and passing effectiveness. *cites evidence in support of claim* In 2014, for example, the Cowboys won the games where they passed the ball better than their opponents and lost the games where they didn't. There was no correlation between Murray's rushing effectiveness in those games and Romo's passing effectiveness. *cites evidence in support of claim*

The Horde: ARE YOU BLIND? OF COURSE HAVING A DOMINANT RUN GAME HELPS DO YOU EVEN WATCH DA GAMES YOU *?#$

AdamJT13: Yes, I watched and charted every game, just like I've done for many years. What evidence do you have in support of your assertion?

The Horde: iM to busy to look it up but everyone says so

AdamJT13: *closes eyes, takes a deep breath, exhales*

For a guy that seems to be so smart you would think he would understand the symbiotic relationship between passing and running the ball.

Emmitt's best 4 years we go 59-16 and win 3 out of 4 Super Bowls

DMurray has a career year and we go 13-5, our best team in nearly a decade of 8-8s

Bur running is irrelevant because a formula says so

Aikman was needed for those SBs as well...the extent can be argued but we don't get there or win those SBs w/o him either.
