Are they completely off book now in some of the stories?

I didn't read the books, but it just feels like a big shift.

I guess I'm still enjoying the series, but it seems like things are getting really Dues Ex and I find myself saying "oh that's convenient" more often.

Also, the earlier seasons didn't bother holding your hand with the story telling-- they just let it happen and let you kind of figure it out.

Just seems like a big shift in writing that I'm not enjoying as much.

Anyone else feel this way?

Absolutely... the subtext is much leaner .. its a "TV show" now, they have to speed it up...

I'm okay with that.. but the first three seasons, and most of the fourth had so much more to work with, as far as reference material, as well as George himself up until season 4.

Its still fun, but not the same.

Ser Pounce would have a better chance......it looks like the actual crown is kicking Tommen's butt every week

I can see the high sparrow convincing Tommen that the Gods will bring him to victory, whether the high sparrow believes it or not I do not know, and can also see him believing that if the king died with no heir, the faith could fill the void of leadership. Both would be mistakes, but I can see it.

The High Sparrow has turned out to be much more clever than anyone would have thought. He is an interesting character IMO. I think there is much more to him than him just being the leader of a religious cult. Tommen is missing the companionship of his Queen and those feelings makes him a sucker for anything the High Sparrow says. I use the term "companionship" for a lack of a family friendly word that describes his lustful emotions.

Glad I'm not crazy.

I would be happy with Ramsey suffering a long , painful death over a period of several episodes. I don't care how, but I want his death to the most painful in GOT history.

I kinda get the feeling that will happen, but no way the Starks torture him before death. Now the Greyjoy's...that's a different story.

I have been watching season 1,2 and 3 the last couple of days. I sure miss the Tyrion that stayed drunk and spent his time in brothels. He had some great, clever one-liners and he kept some humor in the show.

No, I think she would be contempt with separating his head from his shoulders. Besides, Jon would let her.

It would present a real dilema for Cersei and her champion if Tommen was the opponent.
