Sure he does. And those 6 months off during the offseason just isn't enough time for his 'unique situation', right?

Is he smoking weed while he's with them too?

Try to get into the ball park on excuses for not seeing merit of ANY KIND...

Not in this case it doesn't. Smoking weed is prohibited. No 'grey area' or "flexibility" there. You either accept the rule or find another profession.

Legalities? No, marijuana is NOT illegal in many states...care to address relevant alternatives?

Don't lecture anybody on "excuses" when you're the one making them for guys like this.

Check yourself.

Couldn't care less about legality. The employer has the right to place conditions on employment. If you don't like it, don't sign the contract. Don't take the money.

The continual use of the second person, you, shows both an agenda and lack of the use of comparison. Good night, John Boy.

saying the right things should never be an excuse for not doing the right things. when this hit 4 games people were saying he learned his lesson and i simply disagreed. if he's willing to risk a million dollar career now he'll continue to find a way. all the previous horsejunk about "he's just depressed" was wishful thinking by a few. i don't care if he's depressed or not he still owns his actions. he's still shown no signs of growing up and isn't likely to.

the point on hardy is dead on. his "crime" is still debatable and if he's still available i do wonder if there could be a return as our DL takes more hits these days than gregory on a saturday night.

But again, the fact they are giving McClain and Gregory such wide latitude here should indicate to people that Hardy's transgressions must be more serious than people realize and that behind the scenes was indeed a pain in the ***.

Or that the Cowboys rationale and decision-making are questionable at best?

But I'll leave that up to each individual to decide for themselves.

Normally I'd say that's possible but the fact they keep hanging onto these problem kids for longer than they should tells me Hardy must have been a grade A pain in the *** and we the fans know only a fraction of the stories. Hardy is twice the player McClain is and yet McClain gets chance after chance after chance.

I think there is likely a very strong stench on Hardy.

As I've said, given that we have no facts, people are free to fill in those blanks as they see fit.

But, just as easily, it could be an overreaction based on things that we fans would feel aren't worthy of weakening the team this much. Like not wearing a suit for instance?

Or they could have been truly terrible, warranting the player being cut, but a case of the head coach being overruled in decision-making by an owner who always thinks he can make it work?

I don't think either of those scenarios paint the team in a positive light, and that's why they refuse to tell the truth.

I never said it makes them look good. And I was one who thought maybe they should look at Hardy again when other FA defensive ends started coming off the board back when FA started.

But the fact they won't even give him a call but then keep around all these other losers who keep letting the team down pretty much tells me all I need to know about Hardy. Then throw in the fact he's barely getting sniffs by anyone in free agency. If the Skins and Synder don't sign him, then that tells me he's pretty much toxic at this point.

He was "toxic" last year, when only the Cowboys even had him visit. The fact that those 31 teams' positions haven't changed doesn't validate any decisions Dallas is making now.

And, actually, the Jaguars worked him out and the Commanders are reportedly considering him.

That's more action than he ever got last year.

If Dallas wants to truly go 'RKG' and get up on a moral high horse now, that's fine. Do that. But do it repeatedly, consistantly, and across the board. Otherwise, they're clueless hypocrites whose word means nothing.

Or maybe they don't feel like they owe you, me or anyone any kind of explaination. The decision was made to move on. End of story. Either way it's clear that not only the Cowboys but the rest of the league don't feel he is worth of even a training camp roster spot. That speaks volumns.

And maybe I disagree? Maybe I feel they do. Or that the reason they won't is because they have something to hide. I know people wouldn't be so quick to 'take their word for it' if it was the government or corporate America. There people demand answers and rightfully so.

The decision was made to move on. End of story.

Maybe it's your "end of story" because you don't want to know or want to trust that the Cowboys know what they're doing. And that's your choice. But it's not everyone's choice.

Either way it's clear that not only the Cowboys but the rest of the league don't feel he is worth of even a training camp roster spot.

Is it? Jacksonville worked him out and now the Commanders are talking about him. If anything, business is picking up for him. I expect that both he and Dwight Freeney will be rushing the passer in the NFL this season while Dallas sits on their hands.

So it's not what you do, it's what you say? Sorry, not in my book. And if this is what this organization is based on, it's little wonder they fail.

Apparently. Jerry said after he drafted Gregory he had no doubt Gregory knew he had a problem and "wanted to do better."

What Jerry fails to see is Gregory, as well as McClain, sees him as a chump and will tell him whatever he wants to hear. Jerry, being the eternal optimist, will cling to any glimmer of redemption from any player as long as there is potential for a positive effect on the gridiron.

As for Hardy, only the team knows what kind of a distraction he was, is, and could be. Not re-signing him is a clear indication he is not worth the risk.

Hardy's talent is not in question; he's difference-maker. It will be interesting to see what happens with him in the next several weeks.

I always chuckle at the fan who demands that their sports team explain things to them and be totally transparent with them as if they are entitled to that information.

LOL.

Optimism. One of Jerry's best and worst traits.

It's based on the assumption that the Cowboys' decision on him is justified. Based on the lack of tangible evidence, we simply can't know.
