Josh Norman. But we get it.

I'm sure everyone did. Speaking of Josh Gordon I would take him over Dez if it wasn't for his drug issues. There's a few receivers I would take over Dez.

this board is insufferable after a loss. the stupidity cannot be measured.
This board did not suffer a 6-yard receiving day. It did not lose control of the ball in the end zone and then preen in arms-croosed gangsta method in front of the ref and then disappear from the game. Also, it did not fail to get out of bounds with 10 seconds left in the game. And it did not turn in a 55-yard rushing day.

The team did a lot of stupid things. The board only watched.

All this board has done is discuss the team's stupidity.
Get your stupids straight.
And since does this board NOT have the option to discuss these things ?????

No excuse for this season. But I want to let it play out before I judge
Didn't Dez once tell us he'd be a 2,000-yard receiver?
He'd better eat his wheaties and practice his post-TD gangsta poses.

Go look up each WRs targets per game . He was 12th and had less targets than Emanual Sanders, Golden Tate, and Vincent Jackson in 2014. It was even worse for him last year.

Only time he was in top 10 in targets in his career was in 2013 at number 7.

Go to the 1:44 mark, the ball was thrown right when it needed to be as Dez got open but it was going to result in a jump ball no matter how you look at it because Dez was in the corner of the end zone and had to go up for the ball to stay in bounds. He couldn't just keep running to gain separation on that play because he ran out of room and had to go up for the ball which allowed the defender to contest it. Dez had the ball all the way to the ground but it came loose and although it didn't appear the ball touched the ground by the time Dez regained control of the ball he was OB.

Guess what the defender also contested the ball and won. Look at the bass before half with brown covering shepherd similar play defender (brown) in similar position hamd between the ball the bodyand he did not fight to jar the ball loose.

If you want to see stupidity go find the thread that was started immediately after the game saying our season is over. There isn't anything stupid about the Nicks/ Dez injury comparison because this isn't something that just came about after yesterdays loss, it was mentioned and debated late last season. The concern is that the poor play we saw from Dez last season has carried over to this season. I mentioned that his one catch for 8 yards yesterday was the least productive game of his career and he played the entire game.

That's pretty staggering when you think about it and that he wasn't being covered by an elite corner. He didn't face anything yesterday that he hasn't been facing his entire career but the difference is he doesn't look like the same player now. We still have a long way to go this season and one big game isn't going to signify he's back, we need to see some consistency from week to week.

Does anybody think his downfall, so to speak, is due to his contact hold out? Dez doesn't seem to be the guy that gets paid and doesn't produce.

Serious question, is it Dez? Maybe the play calling? Are we not throwing to him in single coverage?

I did notice both times we were 1st and goal not 1 face to Dez. Giants went to Odell twice in back to back plays in the redzone and had Mo not pushed him out of bounds on the 1 catch it would have been td.

It's his inability to separate. Despite the foot injury last season Dez hasn't looked good since the 2014 "regular season." He only had 6 catches for 86 yards in our 2 playoffs games in 2014 with no TD's. He finished 4th in yards in the playoffs behind Witten, Beasley and Twill. Even Beasley had more catches than Dez.

Once he got paid he lost a little bit of the edge he had, money motivates a lot of players. He didn't seem focused in camp last season after he signed his contract. He incited the brawl with the Rams in training camp. He then started throwing punches at one of his teammates that were getting inside his head. I even posted that it wouldn't surprise me if he had a bad season. He didn't look that good against the Giants in the season opener last season prior to his foot injury. He admitted during the offseason he didn't work hard enough and if he worked hard this offseason and it only resulted in one catch for 8 yards in the opener it makes you wonder if his best days have come and gone. Victor Cruz had a better day than Dez and he hasn't played in 2 years.

He is not a speedster and never was. He is a physical WR who can catch on the run and break tackles. His strength is RAC just like Jerry Rice was. Rice was considered slow for WR but it didn't stop him from being the GOAT. We need to use Dez like Irvin or Rice but JG keep insisting we use him like Harper. Dez's targets reflect that as well.

When's the last time Dez made a real good run after the catch? Jerry Rice was one of the greatest run after the catch receivers in history because he could separate and played much faster than his 40 time. Most of Dez's best catch and runs were earlier in his career when he had more speed. A thread was started a couple of years ago with a complaint about his run after catch ability. Because he has trouble separating from defenders they're able to grab him as soon as he catches the ball preventing him from breaking away.

Most of his catches are contested. Watching him run routes yesterday looked like what we saw from him last season. He doesn't have the burst off the line of scrimmage he once had and he's becoming increasingly frustrated that he can't get open. Hard to use him like Irvin or Rice when he can't get open. We're trying to get him the ball but his inability to gain separation from defenders has become very troubling.

When was the last time they ask him to run a route that allows him to catch a ball on the run and had a QB that put the ball right where he can catch and run?
