The future is finally in focus

I don't see anyone parroting your delusional take on the situation. Tony will start as soon as he is ready. If he stinks or gets hurt he will go sit back on the bench. I'm pretty sure he can match the low bar of 0TDs and playing pitch and catch to wide open receivers. But if not, we've got an option for that now.

Really? Then I guess you must have over half the forum on 'Ignore', likely because you can't handle any difference of opinion.

I don't care about the "0 TD" number, nor does anyone else who actually watched the "real" game. Us folks that did, know that he had one to Beasley that the receiver dropped, and one to Dez Bryant that he couldn't hold onto either. That's the "real" about it, those are the facts.

If you want to try - and fail - to make a case that Prescott hasn't done everything required of him to have this team undefeated, have at it. I'd love to see it.

It's all about 2014.

No other years exist.

The years prior to 2014 were the truly amazing ones. It was a fire drill every snap for years behind the likes of Pat McQuistan, Alex Barron, Ryan Cook, Nate Livings, Phil Costa, Kevin Kowalski, Sam Young.....

Those were 3-13 rosters. Romo was a one-man show.

Mighty kind of you, Idg. I enjoy it.

Man, it's easier to throw turds than it is to put something out there. That goes for all of us, and not just CowboyRoy's comments.

Keep on truckin' with the post-game content, though. You're getting the active thread out of it, no matter what. :)

Generally, I'd agree with you. But then, I don't think erod would have smacked down most other posters like he did CowboyRoy.

At some point, we all get the reputations we deserve for having opinions on the internet. You and I both know that from personal experience, I imagine. :)

Agreed. But I know who couldn't handle a difference of opinion and made things really personal really quick (hint - not CowboyRoy!)

But somehow, that fact gets overlooked based on what side of the aisle you're sitting on.

And how well has that theory held up the last two years?

Maybe Romo will play forever? LOL

Last two years? Well we went to the playoffs with a 12-4 record and last year we were 3-1 with Romo and 1-11 with back up QB´s...

You don't sound too confident when he will be ready or how he will play when he gets back. I share your sentiment.

The active thread is because of me.

And no, you dont have to compliment me so I can blush and feel good about myself. :muttley:

Really? because last year Romo missed most of the season injured and we went 4-11. And this year he is hurt again. So I guess your theory that Romo has been making the players around him better just went out the window.

Dak a more mature and poised professional than Witten?

Dak told Dez to shut up?

Such hyperbole does your point a disservice.

Also did we need another Dak thread?

I dont think people realize that romo would be getting killed on a some of these plays. That 4th and 1 call where he rolled out against the rush and threw to Swain, Romo would have gotten killed and never made the pass.

Having youthful legs helps in those situations, but Dak's poise is what made that play possible, he did not panic.

Good times, good times...

What about the years before when he had Free, Colombo, Davis, Gurode, and Kosier? I believe there were a couple of Pro Bowls in there too.

There were investments made and the cupboard wasn't exactly 'bare'.

2013 had Smith, Leary, Fredrick, and Free. And the team was still 8-8.

As much as anything, I hate the fact that Romo's defense has let him down time and time again and forced all of the pressure for winning and losing on him.

If CowboyRoy had created a thoughtful opinion piece and somebody with the well-earned reputation Roy has had summarily dismissed it the way Roy did this one, I'd have reacted the same way to a smack down I did here. I read it and said, 'ouch, that was harsh. But he sort of earned it' and I'd have moved on.

I don't think erod's problem was with the difference of opinion, though. I think his issue was with how that difference was expressed. And with how Roy chooses to expresss his opinions elsewhere.

Nobody knows until he plays. I think he'll be fine but I'm not crazy enough to assume 2014 Tony Romo is walking through that door. 'Cause he probably ain't.

I'll agree to disagree. I clearly see who the aggressor was here.

And for the record, I also saw that several other posters agreed with my comment about it.

Tony is the starter. If we somehow find ourselves on a 4 game win streak, it means the entire team is running at full speed. But nobody seems to mention the other possibility. What if we find ourselves in a 4 game losing streak? Does that mean Dak isn't the next great thing?

As a 23 year old we're fine with him being a backup. In a decade the guy will still be younger than Romo today. So there's that. Dak is the future. But we need Romo back and healthy.

Would that be the wall of realism that Romo is on the bench injured again, but this time with a broken back?
Broken record.

The answer is no. Unless a Greyhound bus runs over Romo crossing a street pushing his walker (with the customary hollowed out tennis balls on the legs) before he's eventual return, Romo shall return to the starting lineup.

That's realism. Does his return prevent Romo from being re-injured afterwards? No. This is football not chess. Will Prescott continue to learn the position for HOW ever long he holds a clipboard? Highly likely, just like all prepared successors before him.

That's it in a nutshell. Some want the future right now. Great. However, what shall happen, positively or negatively, is outside everyone's control EXCEPT those directly connected with the franchise. That's what eats some up the most. Their desire is overruling their understanding of what is most probable in the near future. Repeating that desire despite what shall happen, unless a CNN Breaking News reports a fatality involving a high profile Dallas Cowboy involving a passenger bus, is woefully repetitive--just like beating incessantly against a wall of realism.

Sure looks like it Erod. No doubt enough to get excited about. Im headed out to find some Dak gear.Cant wait for online delivery.

I don't even care if we go like 6-10this year for their will be some losses with this defense against the better teams.

All that's left is to finish building the defense . Sky is the limit!!! Go Cowboys!!!!!!!
