I thought it would be fun to take a poll now and compare it to another poll a few weeks from now after we have played against a few more teams with better defenses.

It'll be very interesting to see the difference if the next poll is during the bye week, when Romo is projected to be preparing to play. I really hope it's a difficult decision because that would mean Dak is still playing well (and looking even more like our QB for the next decade).

lol. Tony Romo has won absolutely nothing in 11 years. Nothing. Its time finally to move on from his overhyped grossly disappointing QB.

Let's look big picture here. All the things we're saying about Dak, we were saying about Romo ten years ago. To say Romo has won nothing is a fallacy. He's won 80 games and less than two full years ago was the highest rated quarterback in the entire league. Prescott has won three games in this league. Three.

I totally understand the excitement around Prescott, but the fact of the matter is the last full year Romo played, Dallas was a bad call away from the NFC Championship Game. Dak is the future, I am convinced of it. But right now, the Cowboys' best chance at the Super Bowl appears to be with a healthy and productive Romo at quarterback.

If Romo is neither healthy or productive, then it's time to give the spot back to Prescott.

Dak!

I dunna understand fans so concerned with Romo's legacy.
It's a question of what is best for the team, not a millionaire's ego.

It has nothing to do with Romo's ego. If the Cowboys have to win a game to get into the postseason, do you want the third highest rated passer in NFL history behind center or the guy that's played four games against so-so defenses thus far?

Please don't interpret this as an anti-Dak post, I am super excited about Prescott as the future. But why not let a completely healthy Romo get the one last chance at glory that he deserves? The Broncos let Peyton Manning play last year when Brock Osweiler looked just fine in relief, and I can't believe so many Cowboys fans don't want Romo to get the same respect.

I'd assume playing the superior QB is best for the team, hence my vote for Romo.
Superior?
As in personal stats? Wins this year? Or playoff glory during his 13 years here?
We have 5 Super Bowl trophies, none during Romo's watch.
That is not superior. That's just getting rich.

As in play. Romo is better at playing QB than Dak. It's really pretty simple, your team angst aside.

Don't let Romo anywhere near the postseason. Starting with the bobble he's had a disastrous postseason record.
Do you think this rusty, fragile and aged QB is, after 13 years, suddenly ready for "glory"?

The third highest rated quarterback in NFL history is the superior player to a rookie that, no matter how impressive he has been, has started all of four NFL games. That is a simple fact.

We can attack Romo for his lack of playoff success and Super Bowl glory all we want. But all it will take is a few horrible games from Dak and the honeymoon will be over pretty quickly. It happened with Romo, too.

Romo can start for the entire 3 plays which he'll be upright.

Yes, let's go back to the past for further frustrations and Romo's "we have to get better" mea culpas, mate!

Sure, why not? Romo has the same number of playoff wins as Matt Ryan. Of course, Matty Ice gets the "cool" nickname.

What exactly are you wishing for?
A Dak meltdown?

No, I'm not. I'm as excited as anybody about Dak's play, and I'm convinced he's the quarterback of the future. I just see no problem with giving Romo his job back. Now, if Romo is the one that has the meltdown, I'm all for going back to Prescott.

Same old tired excuses. Romo never took the club anywhere. Facts are facts. Sugercoat it if it makes you feel better. Tony Romo is below average and his stats WHEN it counts prove it. Its high time to move on from Jerry's boy. Its painvull to watch this clown stumble around any longer.
Go with the healthy 10 year veteran who's seen it all or with the rookie who's still learning and seeing it for the first time?

IF Romo is healthy and he's back to the Romo of 2014, why are we even debating this?
Nice and normal hero worship crap.Tony has won nothing in 11 years. He will win nothing more in anober 11 years. Its a sick joke. Time to move on from this over paid over hyped mediocity.

I saw Ryan play Sunday. He was both cool and effective. 400 yards passing?
Where was Romo?

My point is this- where was Ryan in last year's playoffs? It takes a team, and Romo has been supported by a top ten defense once in his career- 2009, when he won his first playoff game.

If you want to judge QB's by playoff wins, maybe we should start Mark Sanchez or trade for Colin Kaepernick...who can't beat out Blaine Gabbert these days.

I respect your opinion and fully understand your position in this discussion, I just prefer to see Romo as the QB that has led the Cowboys from behind in the 4th quarter or overtime 27 times. For those reasons I think he should get his job back...again, only if the level of play matches or exceeds Prescott.

This is exactly what I am talking about, though I am leaning toward doing this after each game rather than waiting until Romo returns.

The whole point is to see how all of our opinions trend over time. As I said, there is no right or wrong. This is just a fun way to see how our opinions adapt to Dak's play (good or bad) week to week until Romo is healthy.

For example, if we do not lose another game by the time Romo is healthy, I expect a lot of Romo votes in this poll will change to Dak votes. If we lose 2 or more games by that point, I expect a lot of Dak votes in this poll will change to Romo votes.

It's just a fun experiment :D

It's interesting, too, because I am a huge Romo fan, I voted for Romo, and now even I am starting to wonder if I should've voted for Dak.....is my loyalty as a fan clouding my long term (or better) judgment? Only time will tell.
