So I as a child that was born in 1970 and got many but whoopings when I definitely deserved can not run for City Councilman for ANY CITY and advocate parents whooping their children when they are bad or deserve it so Baldy definitely can't be allowed to say that on TV. He is a public figure being paid to be a TV personality. Can someone tell me how many other first round rookie rb's he has said that about...hummmm I will wait....his hate of the Cowboys fueled most of his statement.

I can't help but wonder why Brian Baldinger felt it was OK to say something like that, even in jest. Seems like after all the hubbub that went down a while back about the bounty scandal, a guy might have a screw loose to make that mistake.

Needless to say, the league is so super sensitive about everything nowadays that what might have been seen as funny shtick 10 years ago is now untouchable. The league's phobia has taken on new meaning regarding negative public perception. It has reached an all time high.

I'm really a bit taken aback that Baldy wouldn't have known better. I imagine it's likely that he was in such a crazy mood in doing the shtick of imitating Schwartz that he allowed his better judgment to take a back seat to the mother of all boo-boos. Sometimes, perhaps there's a fine line between frivolous humor and careless stupidity. It helps if there's a filter between the mouth and the brain.

Sure but the punishment doesn't fit the crime..

Just more proof of how soft our society is.

I believe it does. That was a POS thing to say and he said it in the name of the NFL.

Yeah, dude is lucky he will still have a job to come back to in six months.

Wow, I can't believe how many times I've been there and made it out alive. I had no idea how dangerous it was. I wasn't even wearing body armor.

I took a wrong turn in LA recently and ended up on skid row. I have never been to Philly(don't plan to either) but I will put up skid row vs any street in America as the worst!

He didn't say it in the name of the NFL. Had he gone on NFL Network and said it I could see the point, but he didn't. He said it as a hypothetical character in a bit.

Philly is actually a really nice little city IMO. Much better than going into Manhattan. And the people who live across the street, and next to me, are both from Philly. I had no idea I was in such danger.

Wow. I actually liked Baldy as he does a lot of college football games.

But, you can't do anything now, even on a local, po dunk radio station, tweet, whatever!

Social media is killing this country. Now get off my lawn!!!! :)

There has been a symbiotic relationship between the blood suckers of Philly and various public figures like Buddy Ryan and Brian Baldinger.

And it wasn't just Cowboys-Eagles

More history
The Body Bag Game was a Monday Night Football game that was played on November 12, 1990, between the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders at Veterans Stadium. The Eagles defeated the Commanders, 28–14. Its nickname comes from the fact that nine Washington Commanders players left the game with injuries, and an Eagles player who reacted to one of those injured Commanders by yelling, "Do you guys need any more body bags?"[1]

Buddy Ryan is like a saint of the dark side in Philadelphia to this day.

The virus has never been eradicated, but the contagion must be curtailed.

I think we're too easily offended. All Baldinger did was say some meaningless words. It's not like he put a bounty on Elliott or did something illegal. The NFL Network should have said it does not condone suggesting that a bounty be put on a player and left it at that.

What Baldinger said bothers me less than the rumors that get spread by so-called media without any factual basis. At least his comment was simply his opinion, as stupid as it was. This suspension just shows what a hypersensitive society we live in.

That's fair enough.

His comments don't bother me. I consider that kind of stuff just part of sports.

But I don't feel in the least bit bad for him. If you're going to open your mouth with your opinions, especially ones like that, then you'll have to pay the consequences when you do. It's just part of the job and sports as well.
