And once again you're speaking as if you have intimate knowledge of his medical status.

Multiple insiders have both said he has no ability to lift his foot (drop foot).
Having "drop foot" does not mean that you have NO ability to lift your foot. It can mean that, but it doesn't have to mean that. I don't think they actually said that he had NO ability to lift him foot. My niece suffered a brain injury when she was 17, along with multiple other injuries, and suffers from drop foot. She has regained about 30% of the movement over the the first couple of years. It's still gradually healing after 10 years. She still has drop foot, but not nearly the severity she had initially.

I have NO idea what level of drop foot Jaylon has, but it certainly doesn't sound as if it is 100%.

Link to recent quotes from multiple insiders please.

Your niece's issues seem (as far as the info provided) to stem from a neurological issue (brain injury), which can have varying degrees of severity. Jaylon's injury was physical damage to anatomy; his peroneal nerve was stretched/damaged causing the palsy.

Every indication (reports since January) is that he has no dorsal flexion in his foot. Further, not a single report has been given indicating he has partial functionality (as it relates to that movement) in his foot. In fact, the most current reports state he has no movement in the foot.

I really wish the Jaylon Smith threads would stop. He's not playing this year, and all the other people who have had similar injuries have nothing to do with his rehab and how HE heals.

its not like it was a bait thread, his name was clearly in the thread title, so if you don't want to hear about Jaylon just skip the thread?

Pretty sure Stephen and Jerry know, too. But OK.

Miley, just quit it. I find you rather enjoyable (for what ever that's worth to you, maybe it isn't), but stop with this emo depressive deal you've been on for the past couple weeks. Please.

And, no, I won't "just ignore you."

Why is it that Jaylon freaking Smith is such a trigger and hot-button "issue" for so many Zoners?

Like seriously, why?

People hate threadin' this dude like cray cray.

LOL

Jaylon is of course a trigger - if healthy, he could be the last missing piece for this year's run.
There is no other option for significantly improving the D and pass rush.

I think this is the problem.
The uncertainty about Jaylon is wearing on all of us.
It is how your deal with the uncertainty, as Fuzzy has said before.
Some of us try to dig for info.
Some of us keep an open mind and accept both positive and negative news.
Some of us only accept positive news.
Some of us only accept negative new.
Some of us take our frustration on others, including those whose posts remind of the uncertainty.

Some even attack a doctor who posts here and tries to be helpful.

Given what I wrote, I can see why you thought that. But, she also had a crushed left leg along with many other injuries. But I haven't read anywhere that he has no dorsal flexion in his foot at this point. I've probably just missed it. Where did you see that?

The Doc said drop foot is not on/off, but varying degrees.
The Doc also said the drop foot has improved.

The tweets say the EMGs are improving.

After having time to thinking about it, they are saying the same thing because EMGs gets its measurement from the muscle.
No connection, no EMG signal improving.

Fair enough. I had seen those but didn't view them as credible...so I wasn't thinking of them in regards to this conversation. I have probably labeled them as not credible because I don't want to believe it. Perhaps it's just wishful thinking on my part, but I think he sees the field this year. My wishful thinking is based on his own interviews and other reports that he might play.

Tyke, then do so. But was it important to tell us that?

Yes, because people are arguing back and forth and giving advice about medical issues, and they're not doctors.

There are too many people in this day and age who think because they read something, they're qualified to give advice. You can read all you want about planes, but if you haven't flown one, I don't want you as my pilot.

Similarly, I value the advice of a doctor on medical matters more than I do a layman. And, yes, I give a doctor's perspective a great deal more credibility than a person who has no experience in this issue.

Do you know going into these threads that you will get layman's advice and perspective, yes or no? And please stay with me here, Tyke.

Agreed. I'd be ecstatic if he sees the field this year.
