I was just going to say that at least Eric Church's halftime performance wasn't near as bad as Aretha Franklin's version of the National Anthem at the beginning of the Vikings-Lions game yesterday.

What's even worse are all the media outlets acting like it was the highlight of the day. I mean sheesh, it was pretty cringe worthy.

Yep, I think ol' Aretha shattered the old record for longest National Anthem. I had no idea that the "Star Spangled Banner" could last 5 minutes.

It made me long for Carl Lewis's rendition.

The halftime performance was pretty bad. But that trumpeter's rendition of the national anthem was one of my favorites of all time before a football game. I truly enjoyed that.

It was bad, but we are also used to hearing massively over-produced music these days. I was actually surprised the guy actually sang live. The guy who sang at halftime in the Lions game earlier didn't sing a single note live. The drumeline he used was even fake. They had black covers over the drum heads.
