Still don't understand that nearly every week, there is a thread like this decrying one of the talking head imbeciles.

Stephen A. Smith, Bayless, Cowherd, Cris Carter.

Why even give them a second of your time?

I know I go blissfully every day not watching ESPN, Fox or wherever where they have these yammering morons featured.

I reluctantly pressed play.. I will learn and grow from this mistake

Dez's route running is a legit criticism(though he's gotten bettter), but they started getting all in their feeling about Dez and completely lost it. A run first team is not going to have a 1500 18td receiver, and it's not because they can't throw it.

I agree about the feelings part. CC shouldn't have revealed what Dez texted him. Just keep your criticism to legitimate football matters.
Having said that, I agree with both Sharpe and Carter. But I'd remind CC how far his teams got as a pass-first offense. Same thing for Shannon Sharpe, who wouldn't have sniffed a Super Bowl victory without Terrell Davis.
Dez doesn't have to be the MAN in this offense catching 15 balls for 200 yards. We need him to simply keep the defense focused on him with double teams and occassionally make them pay when they commit eight men in the box. This team doesn't need to be Dez dependent. It needs to be Zeke and Dak dependent.

While I do agree with alot you said, Dez's biggest problem has always been consistency. Thats why its hard for the QB to know where he is on the field. It was true especially when he was young, and although he is a lil better about it now, its still an issue that hasn't totally gone away.

Your talking about the offensive system and such, they are talking about Dez, the individual, and his craft of doing the little things it takes to be great.
Excellent post.

Actually, Bryant should not have messaged him. He might not have expected Carter to play dirty, but he was the idiot first by getting provoked by them in the first place. I won't excuse Bryant for his role in this. He needs to tune out "haters". But I guess some pro athletes struggle to do that.

Dez's biggest issue is inconsistency, he can be all world 1 week and horrible the next. When he's on he's as good as any WR playing today

I'm critical of Dez because I think he can be more. Those of you that want to suppress all criticism see no untapped potential...see little room where Dez can improve.

You banish him to mediocrity, which is definitely where his production sits this season.

I don't. I see a brighter future. And that future starts with a commitment to really work his craft.

I agree with you mostly on this point. I think Dez tries too hard to get these people's approval and he needs to realize that he's not going to get it. I avoid these shows, now it's time to ignore these threads!

He is looking to the wrong people for approval. He should look at his teammates and in the mirror. If statistical prowess is how he measures himself and these two clowns get under his skin based on that, he needs to get some perspective.

Some of what Carter is saying is completely validated.

Dez isn't the same player as he was in 2014. And I do think he expects more targets and goes mentally awol when he doesn't see them. I also tend to believe that he presses when he's too hungry for the football, resulting in drops and fumbles.

Dez needs to stay consistent and let the game come to him a bit. He also needs to refine some routes (short slants, comebacks and sail patterns).

But Carter is taking all of this way too personal. I don't know what his problem is w/Dez, but it's there. Dez should never acknowledge these two fools again and if I were him I'd turn down any and all handshakes and opportunities to DM or whatever. **** these guys.

I hope their mockery of Dez is something they regret and in short order... What say you now when you're holding the Lombardi?

I agree. I wish he would just ignore them. Instead, he gets in these silly social media disputes playing right into their hands.

Through seven NFL seasons, although Dez hasn't completed the season yet:

Games Rec Yds TD
Cris Carter 101 327 4577 42
Dez Bryant 96 462 6621 67

WOW. Give Carter credit he played for 17 seasons but WOW. Just WOW.

What made me mad about that clip was the sarcasm in Sharpe's voice when he said, "The great Jason Witten".

Sharpe couldn't hold Witten's jock.

I agree. He shouldn't have.
