No way we Lose with Romo

Romo has had some playoff games where he's played well and was unfairly criticized and blamed when we lost. He's also had some playoff games where he didn't play well and the criticism was warranted. Dak has had one playoff game and played very well in that game. Anyone who blames Dak for that loss is no better than the people who blamed Romo when he played well and we came up short. This QB agenda stuff is extremely stupid and juvenile on both sides. Ironically, I usually find that if someone accuses another of being a "Dak slobberer" chances are pretty good they are a "Romo slobberer" and are simply the opposite side of the same coin and no better than the person they stand accusing. The same can be said of people who accuse others of being a "Romo slobberer." Give it a rest and show some self-awareness.

At QB, game was lost in the first quarter. Dak always starts of slow, I'm heartbroken the better QB was on the bench.

Just stop, please stop.

While at this juncture Romo might be the better QB, but there is a chance that Dak can finish out as the better one in the end. But to try and pin this on Dak isn't fair or right. Actually it's flatout wrong.

You need a break from the internet for a few days

Well yeah, You'd have a 10yr starter falling behind 21-3 which would kill the narrative Romo = TDs. I don't see how you can compare the veteran Romo to the 4th rd rookie:huh:. The fact is the defense failed them and they better spend the entire off-season fixing it.

I compare the veteran to the 4th round rookie because the organization decided the fourth round rookie gave us the best chance to get the SB.

By the way, I have no criticism of Dak. Love what he did this season (and what he did in the playoff game). If I have any criticism, its for those who believed they were going to do what no team in the NFL has ever done: win a Super Bowl with a rookie.

You're comparing a rookie in his first playoff game to a seasoned veteran known as God. Is this a clown show or what?

And didn't we score after the Rogers interception?

STOP!!!!!!!!!!!! You'll ruin the agenda of "that one play" cost us a game where the D GOT EXPOSED...............because Dak couldn't cover or tackle.

Either you have old timers and forgot, or ignore that Romo starts slowly too at times.

This was not about the QB. This was about drive killing penalties.

Who didn't know a thread like this was coming? I'm just surprised it took this long. You just knew someone would claim the Cowboys would have won with Romo. When you get down by 18 points you need a steady QB, not a gunslinger especially when you're facing Aaron Rodgers. Don't anyone think for one second we wouldn't have gotten behind with Romo, he doesn't play defense.

He doesn't rush the passer or cover. When the Cowboys have gotten way behind in games, Romo starts forcing throws and taking chances down the field and it leads to turnovers. He tries to get it all back at once with big plays. Dak never got away from what he's been doing all season by taking what the defense gave him and throwing to the open receiver.

There was a throw to Butler in the endzone that was perfectly thrown but he didn't make the play. Dak stayed under control throughout the game, never losing his poise and got us back in the game giving us a chance.

Because we did lose it with Dak.
It's just the "what if" and I think it's fair.
Well, what if our defense had played better? What if our OC realized that Zeke is one of his weapons? What if we had won with Dak? What if we had lost with Romo? It just gets silly after a while. Our defense needs to improve. Romo tried to overcome them for 10 years and couldn't. Not his fault. Just an area we need to improve in to have success no matter who we put at QB.

so you can fall behind 21-3 and rack up a bunch of empty passing yards.

How are they empty passing yards when the game was eventually tied?

Or are you trying to compare Blake Bortles with Prescott?

The reality is there is no way Dak is on the level of Romo.

Even his biggest fans are blaming the fact they didn't run the ball and Romo had been carrying this garbage organization for years without a running game or OL and out of the traditional 3-5 and 7 step drop with Garrett as OC..

Now they are running down stats, when they've been yapping how stats mean nothing as far as Romo is concerned..

The reality is, even this year, as soon as Romo was inserted into the line-up Philly defended him differently even without Zeke in the line-up. They backed off..

To the OP, Romo has won two playoff games his whole career. Not sure why you think he'd fare better.

Dak played well enough to win. Bad defense + Aaron Rodgers = loss in the playoffs.

The difference though is we had Zeke and a healthy OL this year with a battered GB secondary. Romo had garbage...

Yep. We had our best overall team in years. I still say we win if we had stuck to what we did all season - Run Zeke. Feed him!

People need to understand. Just because someone has an opinion that one player would have done better and possibly made a difference in the outcome does NOT mean they are blaming another player for the loss or that they didn't do well. Sometimes a little more "well" is needed. Sometimes another player can provide that.

One great QB performance overshadowed by another, just like in 2014.

Pass defense exposed, just like in 2014.

Different year, same postseason.

Yup, weak pass rush and elite QB got us. Although, there are several things you can point to on why we lost that game. Mason Crosby nailing a 56 yarder didn't help, spiking the ball on the last drive didn't help, the refs calling an obscure penalty that I haven't ever seen didn't help, the missed pass interference on Witten didn't help, etc. In a game of inches, any of those things could have changed the outcome of the game. I do agree the lions share of blame does go to the pass rush though. Our line sucks due to over paying Romo and poor drafting IMO.

44-6 in '08 against Philly
34-3 in '09 against Vikings
31-14 in '11 against the Giants
28-18 in '12 against the Commanders
26- 21 in '14 against the Packers

Yep Romo really would have saved us in a shootout...based on what exactly?
