Who was a forgettable Cowboys player you'll never forget?

It seemed like every year he was the talk of training camp and as soon as preseason arrived he would disappear. He would make outstanding catches during training camp practices and drop everything in games.

Another forgettable player I still remember was Stan Smagala. He was drafted in 1990 by the Raiders then immediately traded to the Cowboys during the draft. I can remember a lot of the players back then because we were looking for anyone who could bring us some hope. Jimmy was high on Smagala who ended up breaking his forearm his rookie year and ended up being waived the following summer. He was one of those players I had hopes for but ended up disappointing.

Rhondy Weston was another forgettable player that I still remember who I had high hopes for. He was drafted in the 3rd round of the 89 draft and was such a disappointment in training camp that he was waived that summer.

First one that came to mind, David Buehler, the man the myth the legend. He had linebacker size and defensive back speed and couldn't make a 40 yard field goal to save his life despite have the most powerful leg in the NFL.

Whowever said Dat, I agree. He won't go down in history as a great LB, but he should. I loved him at Texas A and M, was probably the my first favorite player we drafted, Flozell Adams is a close second.

Really? He was picked in the third round and made the All Rookie team in 1999, in 2003 he led the team in tackles and was was second team All Pro. Somebody needs to get a clue.

to go along with this, i will say alexander wright. he never amounted to much but he was damn fast and that kickoff td against the giants was a thing of beauty.

Thought that was against the Falcons in late 1991 but maybe I'm wrong.

Matt Johnson, he was the Keyser Soze of the Dallas Cowboys. I don't know if he ever really existed or if he was just a myth created to bolster fans hopes of finally adding a great DB to the defense.
