Robert Kraft has the same kind of relationship with Brady as Jones supposedly does with Romo.

Yet, I don't think they would let the GOAT QB waltz on out with a handshake followed by a slobbery kiss.

But then again, they also did not mismanage Brady's contract and make it prohibitive to have him on the roster if he wasn't starting either.
True.

Then again, if Brady got hurt they would at least let him compete fairly for that job when he returned...or at minimum the next season.

Brady has a $22MM cap hit the next two seasons. They can easily carry that because they manage the rest of their roster better than the Cowboys.

They have $60MM in cap space available.

Prediction: Romo misses more than a few games this season no matter where he goes.

Because we're not realistically going to go into next season with Romo and his salary on our roster. Are we supposed to sit around waiting for a fairy to magically drop a draft pick out of the sky from a team who knows we're not going to keep him anyway?

We can do whatever we want. Unlike teams without a quarterback, we are in no rush. Making a move this soon, does nothing for this team, or any possible trade market. It's a failure from a fake GM.

Romo would have to agree to restructure and the terms. The front office has no mechanism to force Tony to do that in order to make a trade amenable.

Romo has a lot of motivation to not facilitate such a trade. He soon won't be a Cowboy anymore.

So Jerry needs to do right by Romo, but Romo can be an *** and refuse to restructure?

The cap mismanagement and credit card mentality is what is the root cause for all of this. Romo was mortgaged to the hilt.

really .....you would rather lose out on picks and cap space just to have resolution

I can easily wait until after the Draft and June 1st if it helps the team more

Easily one of the worst (and there have been many horrible ones) decisions by Jerry if true

That's exactly what you do. Keep Romo around and wait for a team to make an offer or allow Romo to be released as a June 1 cut if he agrees to reduce his base to vet minimum before release. Those are your options.

Bill Bellichick would never do this. It's a business to him.

In all fairness, every team plays favorites. But like you said, this is business and Jerry has no clue what he's doing if, in fact, he does this. They need to start filling him full of tranquillizers and propping him up for the camera's like the Raiders did with Davis. Jerry will be a punch line for years when this happens.....

Oh goodie. 2018 cap gets destroyed too. At least he played 2 years ago. By the time he is finally off the books we will have absorbed the largest cap hit in the history of the NFL for a guy that has hardly played for us. And we receive nothing in return while the team that gets him does so for nothing.

The day Tony signed that contract...I knew this day would come. And here it is. People defended that POS deal like Jerry was a fricking genius. Now look @ it. It might be the worst deal in the history of the league. And that's saying something considering the titanic Albert Haynesworth deal.

Not only did that deal keep us from signing players to get us over the top for the last 3 years...It's gonna strap us for the next 2. Just the dumbest plan ever created by a GM. But Jerry...You still got that gold jacket. Don't forget it.
That's all that matters...:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

There would be plenty of suitors. If you've been paying attention everyone knew Romo was going to get released out of respect.

If a team was eager to land Romo against a backdrop of a lot of suitors there would be a trade. There simply aren't a lot of suitors.

As I said months ago there are obvious conditions for a team wanting Romo:
-They must need a top quarterback
-They must have ample funds available
-They must be willing to take a lot of risk w/age and injury
-They need to be in a window where they can win it all right away

That's a very short list of teams, bros. Quite possibly no list at all.

Brady has won 5 SBs
If Brady had 1 playoff win and no AFCCG appearances in 7-8 years he would not get that

just answering a question

and at least get your facts straight; Dallas has won 2 of their last 4 playoffs games with Romo as QB

But no, Romo is not Brady

Start with a list of teams expressing an interest in making a trade then get back to me.

Agreed! I always hated it too. Jerry thought he was Joe Freakin Montana and in reality he was "Stat Man". The greatest stat guy to always find a way to blow it when it mattered most. Now he has destroyed our cap for years and that is not enough. We have to have this years and next destroyed too.
