I call BS on "theres nothing there".

A first rounder? Absolutely no way could we ever get that.

A 2nd rounder? Probably pushing it.

A 3rd? Sure.. A team would definitely give up a 3rd for Romo but we'd rather let him walk then try and get compensation.

What teams would? What team would pay Romos salary? I like the guy and I hate he had to go but we need to be realistic about his situation. No one really believes Romo will be back to what he was. Except his fans.

So not even one team offered a 7th rounder?

Rumors are that the only two teams Romo wants to play for are Denver and Houston and neither team was willing to trade a pick.

So we were left holding our johnson with no recourse but to release him....................sucks, but it is what it is

It's possible Romo may just retire.

Jerry might have done him a favor so he first have to pay back part of the signing bonus.

Hard to know what Romo is thinking. He doesn't have to be in a rush.

If this happens it is one of the most idiotic mishandled situations during Jerrys entire tenure as GM and that's saying a lot.

What's it going to be then, eh?

He is not retiring.

I know it is hard to deal with, but he was released, he is going elsewhere and we get absolutely, positively ZERO from it other than the feeling of satisfaction that Jerry Jones took care of his boy.

Not likely, but I'll bet his mind changes constantly.

Houston makes the most sense.

Yep. 14 million isn't a lot for a starting caliber QB anyway.

The thing is, Jerry is such a terrible personnel manager, he literally leaked to the entire world about Romo's release before FA even began.

This is just another decision that shows the Jones' are business as usual, the only thing that's changed is they pay slightly less in FA. Lawrence, the Gregory pick, Jaylon, now Tony's botched release. Same old Jones'.

So all the hate on Jerry I'm not sure I get. All everyone has said is Tony is done, he has a severe back injury, his clavicle is made of glass, he's 37 years old. And then there's the idiot fans, he's only won two playoff games, he chokes in win or go home games, etc.
But yet Jerry is supposed to trade this guy, who also makes a ton of money, to some team for draft pics? When the teams know all this and know we aren't keeping him.

Serious question.

Why was this the tipping point for you? It seems to me you have always toed the company line.

Only even listening to a couple of teams...the rest may as well not bother. No team wants a starting QB unless he wants them.
We don't know what was offered, but given the circumstance, teams knew he would be dropped.

Anyone that wants him will want a new incentive based contract. They inherit the contract in a trade. It wasn't the draft picks as much as all the other stuff.

Jerry wanted to do right by Romo. If he didn't care for Romo then he would have held on to him like an asset instead of a friend.

Business wise, I would have held on to Romo. But if he was my nephew, cousin, son, or very close friend I would have done right by him. I've done this in business before.
