If EDM beats the Ducks, I will be ecstatic. That Larsson trade is paying dividends for EDM. What an ungodly young team. Right now it's really just Sekera and Larsson holding down the blueline, if they get one more top 4 D, holy moly.

Can't wait till all those rookie and ELC contracts expire, tho.

Going to be interesting seeing what McJesus and Draisaitl get on their second contracts.
LD is up this year, curious to see if they bridge him, or give him something close to Barkovs deal(5.9m aav)
McDavid can pretty much ask for a blank check if he wants. Or will he go for less to help the team out.

He was outstanding as a rookie in 86 as well. That club had like 10 rookies including the HC and won many OT games...incredable run.

86' that was an amazing run as well...those were the good old days.

Not really. Lundqvist was good but he didn't have to make more than a handful of great saves the entire series.

The Habs have no scorers outside of Max Pac and Radulov, so they went all in on goon hockey at the deadline. When the Rangers were responsible, MTL couldn't generate chances. What'd they have, 2 goals in the entire series when they had to go 200 feet?

I agree the goal scoring needs to be improved, I'd like to see Montreal attempt to get Duchene out of Colorado...The first of tonights Ottawa game, Lundquist was outstanding, stopped 21 shots, many point blank.

They are starting to resemble the 80's dynasty, young and talented...Lucic was a good pick-up as well.

That was a great era in hockey, such a wide open, offensive hockey...my 3 favorite Habs were from that era, Roy, Robinson and Lafleur (they started in the 70's) but finished in the 80's. Price is quickly moving up my list of favorites...a little envy from this end that you got to many a game in those...that's great.

Yep...great era and rough hockey. In those days it was very common to come across the players all over the city. There was a resturant across the street from the forum..The Texas...the players and coaches fromall the teams were in there before and after all the games.

Disgusted at what happened to Syd. A lot of Caps fans upset about the game misconduct. It was absolutely warranted, Biggems. Hope he's back for game four, bro, given his history of concussions.

I don't think it was intentional. The Caps were roughing him up, but I don't think Niskanen was purposely aiming for the head. If that was any other skater they would of fallen down, but due to how strong Crosby is on his skates he was able to stay up but sadly have his head at chest/shoulder height.

I'll be amazed if he is back by game 4. He might force himself out there but, dunno if he would go if it was regular season game. But it's the playoffs. Just hope he didn't suffer a concussion

Unfortunate. Syd's loss will be undoubtedly felt. I think it was intentional, just masked really well.

Maybe the Caps can actually make it to the ECF, now? Ovi isn't a leader, the only one the Caps have is Justin Williams, imo.
