I thought a club could cut any player at any time?
For all practical purposes, they can.

Whatever statements they make to rationalize it via the media are irrelevant to the situation. I have never seen any player get cut and then turn around and sue the team unless there was something like medical malpractice involved.

This incident with Lucky might simply have saved him from experiencing being cut by the Cowboys later on.

I won't be at all surprised to see him being signed with another team and be all the better off in the long run.

And he'll light it up in the return game against us and everyone here will slam the organization for cutting him, a la D. Harris. Book it.

Yeah. He may have some kind of a case against the PD.

As I said from the beginning...tin foil hat conspiracy aside...it was probably a friend or relative that had Lucky's Virginia driver's license. It may have been given to that person to either impersonate Lucky for girls and/or to illegally purchase alcohol. The cops probably asked for the SSN and the shoplifter said he couldn't remember and law enforcement pulled the SSN from the driver's license.

Again...tin foil hat theory so what do I know.

Totally possible.

Through the union, yes he can. I fully expect the union to file a grievance against the Cowboys.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I haven't seen that the Cowboys said they cut him because he stole something.
Unless they specifically said that, I don't see a potential grievance.
They need no reason to cut a player.

Had two good reasons to cut him already---ability to play the game and his ongoing smaller issues..so team culture..

Of course they can.

And this was part of a pattern of behavior for Lucky, anyway. He's like Jaylon here: he doesn't have a leg to stand on. It sucks for the dude that that his last straw was wasted on something it turns out he didn't even do, but he can't really blame the team for the fact that he put himself in this position in the first place.

I don't blame him, though, for being pissed that everybody thought he was lying when he was telling the truth. That would suck. And if Jason or anybody else with the organization actually did tell him they didn't believe him, they owe him a phone call and an apology. Though not a roster spot.

Probably not all that likely.

People have actually been jailed due to police error and have had their cases struck down in superior court.

He is better off going after TMZ for blowing up the story and defaming him.

They specifically said that. Garrett was interviewed about this yesterday.

It doesn't seem plausible that Lucky wasn't involved in this somehow. It's too weird.

How does a guy look like you and have your birthday and social security number handy?

Excellent! That's exactly how some of us feel!
