Looks like a soft Taco with no flavor

He would if he was told to. If Gregory has the size and speed to do it, so does Watt.

I don't see Watt as the same type of athlete as Gregory. Gregory has elite quickness and "bend".

Despite his size, Gregory was a very good run defender in college and gave Ereck Flowers fits.

He may not be as bendy, but he contains less THC and he isn't a stiff like the dude we drafted.

Taco is far from being a stiff. If you want to question his speed, fine, but he definitely has better bend than many of the pass rushers in this past draft. He probably has the best bend of any DL on the current Cowboys roster.

Greg Hardy took his Taco type athleticism and became one of if not the best 4-3 DE in the NFL for a period of time. Only his brain, not his fan defined "limited measurable(s)" stopped him.

Because we need numbers on the DL.

D. Law has had a bad back and his contract is up after the year.

Gregory is Gregory.

Tapper had to sit out a season.

Who else is there? We were desperate for Dlinemen.

Taco was the right pick and if you guys will be patient he'll end up being a solid guy.

His technique and strength are garbage right now and those are things that he can improve on with effort and everything I've heard about the guy is how intelligent and how much of a hard worker he is.

If his technique and strength are garbage how exactly is it a good pick?

That's true on Hardy. I'm not sure we can be sold on the Hardy comparison yet, and in fact the small sample size indicates the contrary. Still, its early on in the process.

I am also a bit concerned that he may be a bit thin skinned and weak minded too based on his tweets. I hope he starts showing the contrary soon. He doesn't currently look like a first round pick.

3 1/2 months after the draft and you want to admit the Cowboys blew it??? Seriously??? He was considered a top 15 pick in some mocks for a reason.

No one expected Taco to be the next Ware of Watt. He wasn't thought of as being that kind of player coming out. No one. You are just throwing that out there because you didn't like the pick.

If he was considered a top 15 pick that is D Ware draft status.

Hardy didn't look like much in his first NFL preseason game.

I have a term for the actions of some players:
Clueless Buffoonary.

The term also comes to mind in regards to many comments I see about Taco.

What to heck...The Cowboys took Mo!! Those boys were taken AFTER Mo in the first rd of his draft year. Could have had any of them.

Lol, my bad. Ill say it again, we werent the only ones wrong on Mo. Most of Cowboy nation was thrilled that night.

Fans and media universally thought he was a good to great player.

The Wonderlic should have been a warning.

Because most NFL rookies don't come in with great technique or strength.

These are things you can develop.

I guess we shall see. I'm just saying that I'm not feeling it with the dude, man. He looked like JAG in college and it's looking pretty grim in the NFL based on the practice reports and the game we saw him in.

JAG's in college don't get projected as first rounders. Taco was. Sometimes in the top half of the draft.

Drawing any kind of conclusions based solely off early practice reports and the HOF game is completely bonkers.

The Taco hate is so strong it's blinding some of the membership in here big time.

JJ Watt got 5.5 sacks his rookie year people. The Texan fan base hated and booed that pick. Not saying Taco will have any kind of career close to Watt's because he won't. Just pointing out that Taco has been a Cowboy for al of 15 weeks and it seems some are in completely disbelief he can't walk on water yet.

You're right. Scouts are infallible. They are NEVER wrong! What was I thinking? In fact, why am I posting my opinions and perceptions on a message board at ALL? Please just link us to whatever articles tell the facts as you see them, Big Dog Cowboy, and we will believe thusly about the team and all of it's players from here on out.

Good day, sir.

Also, Watts body has filled out. Gregory's hasn't.

It's not just my opinion. If Gregory didn't have character (weed) issues, he was highly likely to have been drafted top 10. Watt was drafted #30.

I'm not declaring him a bust. But I am seriously questioning whether Watt would have been the better pick. In PIT camp, from the videos I've seen, he's more explosive and made some splash plays against OL. I'm not crying over spilt milk, but in my mind, the two players are linked. Will root hard for Taco tho.
Legit question regarding Watt.

I understand restraint, but most of us have been watching football a long time and we all know athleticism when we see it.
Time to cut bait- no one is saying that.
Time to watch more closely for tell tale signs of development or regression....maybe.

After one game? Yeah, lets cut him.. You know I hate Stephen A Smith, but hes right about a lot of our fanbase. What a ridiculous statement after one freaking game. This guys has gotten better every year in college, and that was his first NFL experience. You see nothing and are already comparing him to Pittman and Carver? Lets pump the brakes a little bit here man.

What makes you think he is going to be a good player? Have you seen something the rest of us haven't so far or is this an intuition sort of thingy?

His measurables are as good as JPP and he has strong character/work ethic. Give him some time please.

I haven't labeled him a bust so far. Not a single post saying that. I expect to see more out of him currently than you do. That's just a matter of expectations and point of view. You are entitled to your perspective and me, mine.

I hope he pans out. It is quite possible he will (probably as a run stuffing left end). But that's not worth the 28th pick. We have some of those on the team already.

It is also POSSIBLE that in spite of what the team has been saying that they drafted him to play left end/DT and figured they would give him a chance to show if he can play right end. That's not that far fetched.

They might have been putting the pass rushing end stuff out there to generate optimism among the fan base. It is possible that they already think they have a right end in Tapper, Mayowa/Lawrence. The fan base might melt down though if they came out and said that.
