About all you can do when you have a soft Taco with no flavor is add some secret sauce, and hope for the best. Maybe kill some time at a ********** or something and wait and see what happens.

Maybe he had no sizzle...-_-...but maybe, just maybe, with a little Salt-n- Pepa and some real Push it! he can become the all beefy Taco we expect him to be with multiple sacks a season...just sayin...:)

I'm guessing a low end Taco mayo Taco, a day or two old with wilted lettuce.

better yet, we just need 2-3 more blitzes to get there a game.
it is not as if we did not blitzed last year.
if we had better blitzers, i suspect there would be more blitzing.

Nothing in Marinelli's history would indicate that you will suddenly see a sharp rise in blitz percentage.

Tapper looks like a home run as a 4th-round pick.

I hoped he would because I thought OU wasted his ability in college asking him to pay a run-stuffing end in a 3-4 scheme. The dude is relentless, and the one time Stoops abandoned the 3-4 against Alabama, Tapper was dominant.

He will help the pass rush.

There is at least some flash of potential there.

Overreaction Friday.

Taco will be a good player in NFL.

What makes you think he is going to be a good player? Have you seen something the rest of us haven't so far or is this an intuition sort of thingy?

Because.........?

Slowest lineman on the field with absolutely no strength at all. Got manhandled by guys that probably won't make the Arizona roster.

Imagine how bad he would have looked against real NFL starters.

It's hard to argue with those facts. You get a Garrett Clap for that one.

Really, because in the last Taco thread you pretty much said the exact same thing while making up stuff about his College production and measurables. You need to remember that Taco was picked #28, not #1. Your not going to get an immediate QB killer at #28. It going to take some time.

You don't draft a project with your first round pick unless it is a QB.

I think they see a guy that can lock down a defensive end position for 8 years. They totally took the player for the future where they were at. The only thing I will say about a LBer corp of Foster Lee and Smith is that there is a really bad track record of injury in that group.

Maybe so. That's not a bad ide in the 3rd round or so, but in the 1st round? No thanks.

He is almost identical to Gregory insofar as his measurables and people seem to think Gregory is a real deal DE.

Yeah. Don't get the two schools of thought. Either Gregory was too small or Watt was fine. They can't have it both ways.

I have watched him and liked some of what I saw from his collage tape. He was not my pick (I liked Harris), but there is no way to tell what he's going to become (even this year) from the limited tape we have. Your pronouncements are both premature and baseless.

You realize that most Scouts had a first round grade on him before the draft, right? Why would that be if he's unathletic and slow?

Well, he is SLOW.!

I've said it before but I think if you're disappointed in Taco then you had too high of expectations.

This is guy is a bit of a developmental player.

He needs an offseason of strength training and he needs to get better with his technique.

It sounds like you are describing an UDFA not a first round pick. I think maybe you are setting the bar too low, so that Taco can reach it???

Nothing in Marinelli's history would indicate that you will suddenly see a sharp rise in blitz percentage.

i recall a reasonable amount of blitzes, particularly when the base rush was not getting there.
get a better rush player, we may get 2 more blitzes home.
there is probably all we need with the offense we have.

So you're saying that he is a possible Chris Canty? I could see that. A more athletic Canty.

Canty was super strong though and that is a weakness right now for Taco.

Also, like Irving, Taco is versatile... They may kick him inside and he could look better as a pass rushing DT.

Just be patient with this guy. We got him at pick 28 so lower the bar a little.

That may be his best bet, but not without increasing his strength significantly.
