Otani is going to the NL

He wants to hit and pitch. He’s made it no secret he desires hitting.
That would rule out the NL..... the AL has the DH spot for days when he isn't pitching

In the NL he would have to play a defensive position to hit on off days

Yeah, I’ve read some more on it, now, Nightman. It does look like the Yanks is his number one target. At least right now. He would play DH and revolutionize the game (DH non starting days, pitching every five).

There are strong ties to Japanese players in SEA, but it looks like the Yanks are front-runners at this point. But they HAVE to give him the DH spot on his non-pitching days. They do have the international market pool cash available and can offer him a pad in Manhattan. The Halos have **** all to offer (like ~$200k, because we bungle int’l signings).

I’d like to see him go to the NL (just so he stays the hell out of the AL), but it appears the Yanks are the top target, with the Dodgers right behind. SEA is somewhere in there, too, but they seem too small market for this 23 year old phenom.

Severino is that Ace....... Tanaka coming back is huge and we might get Otani...... Gray and Montgomery make a great rotation

Rotation:
Severino
Otani
Tanaka
Gray
Montomery
Chance Adams

Chapman- Closer

I like Severino... Great talent.

If they got Otani... That would be a big plus!

The other guys? They're #3 or #4 starters. Tanaka, Gray, Montgomery, CC all had FIP's of more that 4.00 which is OK, but not great.

It would be a nice add for the Yankees... No doubt about.

For the "Silver Slugger?"
Yes, Mike, Silver Slugger.

Springer had 26 more games and 122 more PA’s. With that he had merely 1 more home run.

Their K rate was almost identical, but Trout was superior to Springer in - inhale, deep breath, CZ - Base on Balls rate, Isolated Power, Batting Average on Balls In Play, Batting Average, On Base Percentage, Slugging Percentage, On Base Plus Slugging Average, weighted On Base Average, weighted Runs Created plus, triples, Win Probability Added, and Base Out Runs Added. But, holy ****, that one extra home run!

DISGUSTING

Arte doesn’t know how to market Trout. He was robbed. I’m disgusted.

It’s all good, next year he’ll win his third MVP

And Eppler is proving to be a good GM. Much better than Dipoto. He’s gonna surround Trout and he is drafting well and has a knack for snagging great talent on the low-low

Only playing 112 hurt him. That's what a lot of folks are looking at.

Hurt Correa also in that he only played in 109 games.

Guys have to quit sliding head first.

Trout has the sliding glove, now. You have to slide head first when stealing second. You have to, Mike. You can manipulate your touch much easier than with an ankle/foot.

Sliding to first is what is dumb. It almost never results in a positive play.

Upton got his third, tho, Mike.

If Calhoun rebounds, we have the best outfield in the AL

Calhoun is who Calhoun is. He'll be 30 next season and I don't see him hitting his production level of when he was 27.

Angles have some terrific production with Trout and Upton.

They have guys like Calhoun, Poo-holes and Simmons that offer meh production.

And then several guys who flat out stink.

Ok, know Simba should never be mentioned as “meh”, Mike. You know that. We are set at SS for the next 7-10 years. And he is still young (27) so he can still grow as a hitter when people like old man RotY Judge is 25.

Mike, how could you ever say Simba is meh? He just had a terrific season.

Also, Calhoun is a very solid RF, he just had an off year. It happens

Grandpa Pujols is killing us, tho, no doubt. Not like crack head Hamilton, but still, he’s killing us.

Thank God we re-signed Upton, as he gives Trout some protection and forces Lasagna to bat down the 45 year old.

We are **** at 1b, 2b and 3b

Our catcher, Maldonado is awesome. Not the best hitter, or even close, but a terrific glove as he just got his GG, along with the automatic Simba. Lasagna does love him some athletic catchers, and now we have one.

14 homers, .278 average, 46 walks. That's OK production, but nothing to go ape about.

And I would bet his 2018 numbers regress towards more like what he was the previous 3 seasons. A guy with single digit power who'll hit between .260 and .270

Calhoun could up his numbers a little. But I doubt he'll hit 25 home-runs with a .300 average.

He'll hit in the teens in homeruns and have a batting average about .250

He is good defensively.
