How much does he need to score 1 meaningful TD?
I keep hearing he's good enough with "more pieces around him" - He has every one of his WRs, 2 pro-bowl offensive lineman, a decent enough TE and an RB that gave him 91 yards last night.
How much more does he actually need? It's one thing to have a bad game, it's another to have the game he had last night.
He has 2 probowl offensive lineman, but the other three suck. His WR core is average at best, Dez is a shell of his former self. How do I know? It has been 17 consecutive games with Dez under 100 yards, that doesn't happen to stud WRs. You think Julio Jones or Antonio Bryant goes 17 games without breaking a hundy? I don't think so. As far as the running game, that 91 yards is not really indicative of how the game went. They were talking about this on the Lunch Break and Eatman said that on first down they averaged like 1.2 a carry, thus basically nothing which lead to 2 and 3rd and longs. Then Morris pops one for 25 and then back to nothing. Yea, it looks ok on the stat sheet at the end of the game, but it was not effective running.
He has more than a lot of QBs in this league has - and Dez is still a capable WR, he's no scrub. T-Will is not an ideal #2, but again, he's no scrub either, and Beasley and Witten are good enough for at least underneath throws.
Also, stop listening to junk post-game shows. Morris had 17 carries for 5.4 average. It wasn't an outstanding game, but it was sure as hell not a bad game. Dak had enough help in yesterdays game and simply just failed.
You are pointing at everyone else to avoid criticizing Dak - the guy played like **** and deserves to be called out. So call him out.
You're right, everyone else is the problem for his multiple picks, inaccurate throws, and not setting his feet.
It's all the fault of Dez, I guess...
I'm saying you guys blaming him having a bad game missing arguably his biggest weapon and knowing he was gonna have to carry everything. He failed at that against an amazing defense and the best record in the NFL. You are saying that means he's "not the answer"? I remember the Bledsoe and Johnson years. I'm thankful we have a DECENT qb after Romo when other teams are on attempt 10 this decade...
Nah- they are bandwagoners jumping off at the first opportunity... I say good riddance.Cowboys fans are a fickle bunch. If Sean Lee, Tyron Smith and Zeke Elliott were playing healthy yesterday, you'd be celebrating a victory today. But because of those absences, you are ready to quite on your QB. He's not a bum, he just needs his supporting cast back.
The ceiling for Dak is Donavan McNabb. Listen, not every QB is going to be Tom Brady. The Giants won 2 Super Bowls with Eli Manning. He is good enough IF...IF...you put together a more complete roster and coaching staff. If you think you must cut every QB that comes along that is not Tom Brady...you will be looking forever for a franchise QB. Look how talented Tony Romo was...and he only won 1 playoff game. Romo was good enough and still did not sniff the prize. The issue in Dallas so much bigger than the QB. Especially a QB that has played like 25 games.
We're back to this....
Missing 3 players is not an excuse for him to play like a backup QB. Sorry, no, there's no good excuse for the awful play from Dak. Not being able to score a single meaningful TD is not excused by not having Zeke or Smith.
A big part of that is they only give him half the field to read. Hes too dumb to handle more.Dak is fine, offensive scheme sucks, everyone knows what the play call will be which makes simple things much harder, thanks to JG.
Hoping like others that JG is gone before he ruins more careers.

If they were bandwagon jumpers they would be flying a different flag like me. I'm upfront with my approach but these turncoats would rather hide in the CowboysZone in Cowboys fan clothing but critique and ridicule the team's ever move all week. I still love the Cowboys and wish them all the success but I have a hometown guy, Case Keenum in Minnesota lighting it up so I'm going to support him. Rest assured if the Cowboys end up playing the Vikings in the Playoffs, this Viking flag is coming down and I will be hoping my guy, Keenum has a bad day. I'm true blue.Nah- they are bandwagoners jumping off at the first opportunity... I say good riddance.
If Dak Prescott was up for trade, there would be 15-20 teams calling and would be more if they weren't already held in salary cap commitment to their current top 10 QB's.
He turns 25 just a month before next years regular season.
Only half a season ago he went to the Pro bowl and was named offensive rookie of the year. All on a 4th round deal.
There's no denying Zeke and Tyron Smith missing the last 2 games are having an effect but coaching and quite possibly all of these distractions have effected results as well.
2 of our 3 most important players on offense and quite possibly the whole team are not on the field playing for us right now.
Dak Prescott is not this teams problem. The start of the off season to the teams current overall circumstances are.
