And even yesterday he went 20/27. The picks were awful, but in my opinion both came with the game already lost.

The game turned after his 33 yard touchdown run was erased by holding. Dallas still would have trailed 9-7 but it seemed punting on that drive sucked all of what was left of the life out of this team.
Same as the missed FG with Atlanta. Totally sucked all the life out of the team. Also a lot of penalties. Reminds me of the 2010 team.

lol what's weird to me is everyone thinks because of a great rookie year Dak is done developing. He's still a 4th round guy having a sophomore slump after being asked to carry the team on his back. Same guys saying we need a new qb are saying Jaylon needs to be replaced. Y'all are so impatient when it comes to guys developing. It's not Madden...

He went 20-27 because he refused to throw the ball beyond the chains and take any chances whatsoever. Even if he missed on 70% of those throws, he would have still picked up a few extra first downs that would have helped the cause tremendously. I wouldn’t accuse Dak of padding his stats because he doesn’t care about that, but that’s exactly what those 5 yard passes to Witten are on 3rd and 10.
But hey, he actually raised his completion percentage to 14th in the league. To go along with 22nd in interception percentage, 19th in passer rating, and 25th in yards per attempt. After last year being 4th, 3rd, 3rd and 4th. Good thing there’s no sophomore slump, though. Whew!

Did Dak "refuse" to throw the ball downfield, or was he simply doing what the coaches told him to do?

How many deep routes did the Cowboys run yesterday?

I'm tired of this staff playing scared and Dak having to fall on the sword for it.

2006: Lost 42-17 to the Saints, two weeks later threw for just 142 yards in a 23-7 loss to the Eagles. Went 1-3 that December.

2007: Went 13/36 passing against the Eagles, lost to Washington in the finale, went 18/36 against the Giants in the playoffs with an endzone pick.

2008: Closed the season with two losses, including a 44-6 thumping in the finale at the Eagles.

Now, Romo's numbers were generally better than Dak's were in most of these games, but to think Prescott was going to keep putting up superb games week after week just based off his rookie year is being unrealistic.

At some point, Dak was going to look bad. Here it is. This is my point.

Slumps.......It's happens, even to the greatest of quarterbacks. Remember last season the great Aaron Rodgers played so poorly at the start of the season that a lot of people thought he was done. He was holding the ball too long, throwing inaccurate/ bad passes, and making bad decisions. His passing percentage, yardage, and touchdowns were way down. Their offense was in the same kind of funk Dallas is in right now (minus the penalty conspiracy and bad coaching). And they were getting blown out every week! But he and the team rebounded. Dak and the team will rebound.

So poorly? Rodgers had 4 games with a QBR over 120, 3 over 90, and 3 "stinkers".

His "bad games" were 70.7, 65.0, and 79.8 before he went on that long winning streak. The Packers were actually putting points on the board in those games as well. Not comparable, Rodgers has never played "so poorly"

Stop pushing myths.

I have no idea. Last year I truly believe it was Garrett that told Dak to dink and dunk all year long but this offseason there was all of this talk about the “full playbook”. I’m fairly sure Garrett would deny that kind of micromanaging but he’s known for throwing QBs under the bus.

Well when you consider comparing the two offensive schemes. The cowboys are severey handicapped by their offensive scheme and playcalling when in distress whereas the packers have a great scheme and have the potential to put up points even when their players/team are in a funk. Coaching is the difference between functional slump vs dysfunctional slump.

Currently Dak has:

Little confidence, happy feet, ansty arm, rushed field vision, and some desperation.

BUT,
Generally he has the attributes of a Franchise QB - if the coaches and players around him don't ruin him.

He has class/character - studies and works HARD, and leadership qualities (he is controlled, yet passionate). He likes and looks after his team-mates. QB needs this - ask Cam Newton. DAk has no off-field issues I know about and leads by example here - this is no pot smoking, ***** chasing, gang-banger, redneck, head-case. Quality dude.

He has physical ability - athletic/strong/ability to make throws. You don't have a season like last year, without having ability to throw ball.

He is intelligent - SO KEY - but he still needs experience and needs to continue to improve reading defenses and going through his progression quickly to find any open receivers.

- BUT, he is conservative by nature. He is opposite of Romo who was willing to take risks. So Dak is struggling when downfield game is obvious and needed. He checks down quickly and probably doesn't pull trigger trying to avoid picks - yet is forced to take other bad percentage plays. Doesn't help that his team-mates drop a lot of balls that top level receivers catch and/or jump in air and body catch when not needed. This has caused stupid interceptions that are making Dak nervous or hesitant. Human nature. Or, owner won't put up the sun-blockers (we play 8 games in that stadium, other teams play a max of 1 - so who is blinding sun providing a home field advantage for - statistically it will hurt our team a hell of a lot more over a season than it will any other team)......I don't understand these things. We have coaches that are calling for TE screen routes (maybe not the 1st read, but still?!) or routes where 3 receives are in same spot in 2 seconds - brutal play calls - this doesn't HELP!

I really hope the coaches don't ruin this player! Right now he is "chasing cars" a bit for sure - and a bit shell shocked and is not used to having to carry team and come from behind with poor (relative to last year, and their ability) oline play.

Dak's success last year, is probably a detriment to what head coach and positional coaches are willing to do. I would so much more like a Parcells, developing a Dak or someone like that would do it methodically or slowly. Dak will have to learn and progress from this season's experiences, just like Wentz and Goff did from getting beat up last year. I believe he has spirit, brains, character, and mental toughness to do so BUT, he will need solid coaching, and some help from players around him. Yes, Zeke is getting a bum deal, but his inmaturity and bad judgement hurt Dak and his team - as much as I think the suspension is unfair based on evidence and he was railroaded by league/Goodell. The oline plan didn't work as well as hoped and overall play by oline is lower than last year for sure. Receiver play or play calling also. Dak isn't seeing field as well, and throwing ball as well also, but that is very likely confidence and rattled arm/head/feet at moment....

I think you can believe in Dak, but he needs help - Romo had experience and the gunslinger style/mentality that probably was better for less balanced offense and a come from behind, HAVE TO THROW game.....

Prescott: Comp 532, ATT 806, 66.0%, Yards 5,985 Y/A 7.4, TD 39, INT 13, Sacks 49, Yards 277, QBR 97.4, Rushes 91, Yards 529, Y/C 5.8, TDs 11, FUM 13, Fumb Lost 7
Wentz: Comp 569, ATT 925, 61.5%, Yards 6,212, Y/A 6.7 TD 41, INT 19, Sacks 56, Yards 340, QBR 87.5, Rushes 96, Yards 374, Y/C 3.9, TDs 2, FUM 21, Fumb Lost 5

Cute stats you have there, now let's look at the most relevant

Dak Prescott - 16 TDs, 9 INTs, 2,318 yards, 63.7 % completion, 6.7 average, 87.6 QBR

Carson Wentz - 25 TDs, 5 INTs, 2,430 yards, 59.7%, 7.6 average, 103.4 QBR

One QB improved greatly, the other declined greatly. But I guess if we combine the now irrelevant seasons, it can be sugarcoated.

Well the book is still being written on Dak. Can't take away last season but he is regressing.

He's desperate. That's their go to move.

Last I checked Prescott's half white and that half sucks too.

Let's see the knock on Dak and the excuse for Wentz last year was surrounding talent, which did a complete 180 this year.

I believe the condensed definition of “it” is: the ability to hand off to a 1st team All Pro RB and throw 5 yard passes to a wide open Witten/Beasley behind the protection of three 1st team All-Pro OL while playing a rotten schedule featuring 1-15, 2-14 and 3-13 teams.
Do you ever post anything that is remotely true? I mean, you make stuff up to fit your agenda...its kinda funny
