Those numbers show a QB that NEEDS an elite running game.. open your eyes people. You all know I'm right.
Young QB historically struggle against the league's best defenses, even when the threat of the run is present.

In Aikman's first six games against Top 5 pass defenses in 1991-92, Smith played in all six, averaging 110 yards per game. And this is 1991-92, when Aikman made his first two Pro Bowls.

1991-92, in 6 games vs. Top 5 Pass Defenses
105 of 187 (56%) 1243 yd (6.6 ypa) 8 td 10 int 68.5

1991-92 vs. #6-28 Pass Defenses
506 of 754 (67%) 5865 yd (7.8 ypa) 34 td 15 int 97.2

If Prescott struggles in the next 3 games (vs pass D's with an avg rank of 23rd) then he's not giving you any more than the average QB. As Aikman himself likes to say, "It does matter who you play."

He certainly has the right mentality, an excellent work ethic, and natural leadership ability. That's three "its" I can think of.

What he does not have, at least not yet, is the ability to overcome sub-par line play, horrible receiver play, and predictable playcalling from his coaches.

Dak has to be a lot better, but he's also a scapegoat at the moment. This team's problems run far deeper than a struggling sophomore quarterback.

uh you forgot accuracy, timing and awareness. They are kind of important.

but I guess you can just leadership the ball to your wr according to all the fans who couldn't wait to dump on romo.

But ...

- it's the coaches holding him down!
- you'll have to see him in a new scheme, reserve judgement!
- he's hearing footsteps out there after Atlanta!!!!
- he's only in his second year, how about young Romo!
- stats say this and that, how about you start believing!
- in the NFL QBs throw to a spot, and he's on the money!
- receivers are not open, no deep threat to connect

This may not be a popular opinion here, but Aikman never was a Great QB. Now, don't get me wrong, he was good but not among the greats in my opinion. Marino, Young, heck even young Bledsoe were better passers. So the fact that Aikman struggled early on in his career proves nothing because even after enmitt Smith moved on and Aikman was a vet, he still struggled against good defenses (judging by his stats). So like I said, Aikman pretty much was average his whole career.
I would like to see young Marino/Montana/Manning's stats compared to Dak.. how does he stack up?

Due for a slump?.......when was Romos 3 game slump? Too funny

Was Romo dominating his second season in the league? Oh that's right he never saw the field. Not defending Daks crap play, only pointing out how unreasonable the comparisons are at this point. I personally am both worried about Dak and realize its unfair to throw him off the cliff as well.

Yes, Romo was dominating his second season in the league. You and your fellow Dak slobberers keep pushing your absurd semantical argument and no one is impressed. It’s hilarious we’ve gone from Dak is an elite QB to quibbling about whether a practice squad QB counts as a year in the league. That’s how pathetic you are. Go peddle your garbage elsewhere.

Dominating from the bench. Funny how Ive been critical of Dak but because Im not ready to call him a flop Im a "Dak slobberer." You and the other pansies need to settle down or go find a quiet corner to panic in.

Dominating from the field. How do you like that 19th ranked passer rating from Dak? That 25th ranked completion percentage? Now that’s dominating. Keep crying semantics.

Agreed. We need to be patient with Dak and his development. He's proven he can thrive under ideal conditions. It takes time to find a way to operate under less than ideal conditions.

Funny because I dont remember saying Dak was doing well or complimenting his play. I know what trash looks like. Perhaps youre too dense to realize Dak hasnt been afforded the same time to develop as young Romo . The ONLY point I was making is that Romo (who I adore) didnt play in a single game this early in his career. Personally I dont believe Dak will ever be as good as prime Romo but he does have the potential to be a strong dual threat qb. So rather than go off the last three games I am choosing not to lose all hope and instead look at the larger sample hes given us.

It’s a dumb point to make because Romo literally didn’t play a game, didn’t throw a pass until his 4th season. While I’m sure Romo benefited a bit from being on the team (doing nothing in real games), I’m also sure Dak benefited from playing in the SEC for a team that would rank as high as number one in the nation against teams filled with future NFL players... as opposed to Romo playing in obscurity against a bunch of community college rejects.
It’s all excuse making, from a group who quite frankly has nothing left at this point.

It's unfair to be comparing Dak's year and half in the league to Romo's 14 year career. Dak started out better and Romo never played year two so there isn't any rhyme or reason to draw conclusions from what we know right now.

Yeah it probably helped "a bit" to have four years of nfl coaching and offseasons to work on his craft. So what group exactly are you placing me in?

I love QB arguments. It shows who knows football and who doesn't. The Romo and now Dak haters obviously don't.

Yeah it probably helped “a bit” to have actually, you know, played against real competition than sat on a bench for 3 and a half years never playing.
You are being tentatively placed in the group of “Junior slobberer”.

Right because it has to be one or the other, you either hate Dak or love him. No one is allowed to be crirical, but hopeful he can turn it around. You are being placed tentatively in the group of "cry baby dueche bags."

I guess I need to remind these crybaby millennials that we had to suffer through three years of bad Troy Aikman before he got it. Guess what, dude got a gold jacket.

Purely because he was on a stacked team. Troy Aikman on the browns wouldn't get a second contract. It is what it is..

Is (whoever plays RB for New England) better than Zeke? Nope....

Being on a Winning franchize doesn't make you the best at that position get it through your heads.

Aikman was ok but he was no Marino.
