Not much to complain about.

More rah rah empty talk from a player that deserves a pay cut.

Same as the rah rah FO / coaching BS they spew every year with their stupid sayings and t-shirts. So they need a pay cut as well. Well, the coach just needs to be cut.

Not saying Dez should not take less, but it is the same thing basically with all talk no action BS
What will be the t-shirt this year, what will be Jerry's or Stephen's war daddy, ********** comment be this year.

I'm tearing up........not nearly as much as watching him drop passes and throwing embarrassing temper tantrums though.

What makes it even worse is after he cries for the ball in the Seattle game he gets the ball ripped out of his hands like a small child. That sure quieted his big mouth!

Dez has become the proverbial “progress stopper”. That, and several other considerations, leads to the only conclusion that he needs to go.
Sorry dude this is off base..we have no other starter to be a 1 currently on this team so hes not keeping someone off the field that could be better...

Sure i hope Dez see the ignite and possibly restructures to say a 50 percent cut in guaranteed salary with a change to earn it all back with escalators and bonus’s.. its technically not a pay cut just asking him to earn it back..

The entire team other than say Tank and Irving underperformed..

Seriously some of the same poster ripping the cowboys for dumping high paid vets that were playing very average and go with youth, are these same people saying we have progress stoppers in dez and Witten.

You cant have it both ways ..we rebuilt our Defense last year and too the entire year to get them all on the field and playing better and we hoped the offense would stem the tide but injuries and suspensions derailed that notion.

So hit the reset buttons we went 9-7 while playing horribly, this isnt bottom feeder loser talk like another poster said we are...w earn 38-26 in the last 4 season with 2 playoff appearances, with that horrible 4-12 season in there and transiting to Dak and Zeke. This isnt Cleveland and those teams continuously picking in the top 10 year after year..sure huge disappointments a few of these years but again stop acting as if we are this losing franchise with nothing to look up to.

We have work to do to be competing with top 5 teams but geez some of you act like we are horrible..

He can be real all he wants to. I just want him giving his all everyday. Practice and games. Does he?

He admitted he had something distracting him at times last season. That is unacceptable for me for a player though redeemable.

I hate when my coworkers bring baggage to work. I have issues as well but you’re supposed to leave them at the door when you walk in to work for someone that is paying you.

He also talked about playing injured and how he’s done with it. He played 16 games last season if I remember correctly but I do remember several weeks where he was very questionable. I can’t fault a player for wanting to play while injured but if he stands by that, you need to worry about his durability going forward.

Dez isn't exactly playing like a no. 1.

It's possible to admire Dez's passion and still recognize he hasn't lived up to that contact. I do think the injuries have taken a toll on his body, but it sounds like he's willing to do anything to get himself right physically.

The solution is somewhere in between. He can rebound from his recent struggles and still be a major factor for our team, but that contract is absurd for the production we've gotten in return. Reading between the lines it sounded to me like he's open to listening about re-doing his contract. Even if we can drop his base from 12 million to 8-9 million, that's still a lot of money with bonuses and escalators factoring in. Dez and Jerry have a great relationship, they'll figure something out.

I think it'd be premature to flat out cut him, Dak is really only heading into his 2nd off-season as starter. It takes time to build that rapport.

This is the same player that said he was gonna give The Cowboys a home town discount when it came time for his contract. He didn’t.

Hopefully he will at least renegotiate himself contract. Doubt he will take a pay cut. Just like carr.

But I love his passion. If he and Dak could work in what he does well then maybe he starts demanding a double team again. Gotta go down field.

Dez needs to go. That’s all I said. You have me confused with someone else or you just don’t care.

My question is what exactly was "distracting" him?

Draft Ridley so Dez can be the best #2 in the league by week 10.

As an old-school fan if it's not on the field it's not on my radar. I find myself caring less and less about the spoken word of an athlete.

If he wants to say he was injured and it affected his play. That is even more concerning. That makes 3 years in a row.
