They don't tell him exactly but i'm sure he gets a sense of who they like when talking to them and I think they clearly like Vander Esch.

Sure. I can totally see that. Then he goes and drops it like it’s a scoop.

Does anyone know how old he is? Every time I try and find it I come up empty.

Also, he looks like the real life version of Thad Castle.

I will never understand their loose lips when it comes to the draft. I would not allow anyone employed with the team to speak a single word about the draft with anyone that is not employed by the team. I would set up meetings with players at positions I have no interest in. I would do anything I could to keep my true intentions secret and throw everyone off the trail. Dallas' front office talks so much leading up to the draft and we wonder why players they like go off the board right before they pick every year or why teams seem to always trade up in front of Dallas. This could be misdirection. it just makes no sense to allow reporters to get a sense of who you like in the draft.

The guy was productive and put on a show at the combine.

I know there is a Bobby Carpenter comparison floating around but I just don't see it. Carpenter was anti-physical.

I like Vander Esch but feel he can be had lower than 19th.

This guy has been skyrocketing up draft boards ever since the season ended, right now most people see him as in the 25 to 20 range by the time draft day gets here he might be ranked top 15. All the people who are saying that he is a reach at 19 and would feel more comfortable trading back before taking him are going to be surprised when he goes to the Packers at 14. I would love the pick at 19 over Hernandez and especially over Ridley, stay away from old slow wide recievers.

We love players from Boise St. The only one we really hit on was Scandrick.

https://insidethestar.com/report-boise-state-lb-leighton-vander-esch-visiting-cowboys/

As the 2018 NFL Draft draws closer, teams are beginning to hold their official visits with prospects of their own choosing. The Cowboys have already met with a few different prospects thus far, and they've reportedly added a linebacker to that list this week.

Multiple reports are saying the Cowboys will meet with Boise State linebacker Leighton Vander Esch this week, adding him to the list of 30 potential visits.

He has better size than old Chuck Howley, but his game sounds just like Chuck....would love to see this kid in #54, dropping into coverage. Chuck used his 6'3" frame in coverage and had lots of int's as a lb.

We'll see who else is available but I wouldn't mind him at 19.

I think when you pair his production on the field to his combine and add to that he can definitely add some more weight on that frame.. I think he would be a good pick.

I don't know alot about him other than reading some comparisons to Jack Lambert of the Steelers and Urlacker of the Bears. They said that kind of upside. Hes 6'4 and 240 and has room to get much bigger and stronger. Ideal for a MLB.

His background and how fast he has learned the position and done well with such little EXP at it is impressive. Some may think he is the type that is at his ceiling already, I think he has a ways to go.

19 seems high to me for him but if their board is shot, if they don't feel like they want to take one of the OGs there or DTs...They may want to go with a LB since it seems to be the weakest group in this draft...similar to how they went Taco last year as DE was the weakest group.

Very true, but you also have to realize that a lot of these inside sources are totally bogus.

If anyone thinks someone within the Cowboys front office told Bryan Broaddus who they will probably draft next month they are foolish. The Cowboys don't even know yet.

To be fair Broaddus did not say anyone told him that they plan on taking him.

He just said he was making his own call that they will take him.

I think at most he said some of the scouts like him.

Not that much lower. The Steelers like him so you have to be careful about trying to be greedy over a few spots.

heck hes been tied to the packers - rams - no - jags - eagles - Seahawks - Redskinsb - bills

They are also saying that Dallas almost always draft players from their 30 players visit.
