I get Thompson is the deep threat and replaces Butler, but do we really need Hurns too?

I thought we were gonna sign some OL.

Yeah we needed to upgrade wr badly. Hurns has a high ceiling, hopefully he can reach it!

I thought it was $4 million now, but $8 million if they wait until June 1st. No?

His contract the next two years is the same: 12.5m salary, 4 m pro rata SB, so cap hit of 16.5m each year. If we cut him now, his 12.5m salary goes bye bye and we are on the hook for $8m acceleration of SB. So we would Save 8.5m this year and 16.5m next with $8m in dead money this year. If we wait til June, we save 12.5m this year and next, with dead money of 4m each year.

I like Hurns more than Watkins who I realize has more speed, but I think this spells trouble for Beasley...
Trade Beasley to the Ravens for a 4th

They will get a 4th next year when he signs with another team

Mixed feelings if thats the way it shakes out. I like Williams a lot more than most do,... and have been a fan of Cole since day one.

How can you like a guy w/ stone hands...gator arms...that doesn't know when he should get out of bounds to save time?:omg:

The faster we get rid of the body catcher...the better...

I think Stephen sees that and says, "I can save $25 million real dollars if I cut him."

Stephen has voiced his disgust over how Dez' lack of emotional control in games, and now he production is gone, too.

Am I the only one not too bothered by an occasional drop? Sure it sucks when it happens in the moment but these guys all provide value on every play. It’s just one down and the worst catchers still only drop like a dozen a season that’s like ripping on a linemen for holding here and there

Great signing. Cut Dez and draft a WR and our WR issues are much less. Dez has been a drag mentally and financially on this team for a couple years now. Time to let him go ***** and moan on another team.
Name me someone who plays harder wirh More passion than dez

Solid signing that can add depth with a low risk and high reward.

1. Keep and restructure Dez. Cutting Dez does not improve the WR corps.
2. Twill shouldn't go anywhere. He is on a cheaper deal than what Hurns may sign for with better stats.
3. Dak is still the one throwing the ball, he has the most to improve in order for any WR to be effective.
4. We just added the most depth at wr than we have had in a long while.

Dez #1 wr
Twill #2 wr
Hurns #3 wr (atleast untill he knows the playbook)
Switzer Pr/Kr slot receiver- replaces Beastly if he is cut or traded
Beasley #4 wr on final year of contract, now tradeable/expendable especially if we also draft a WR on day 2.
Brown- Might make the P.S.
Newly drafted guy- start grooming Dez's replacement. Probably won't even be active on game day untill we trade or cut one of the top 5 guys.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...avior-can-be-a-distraction-says-stephen-jones

"It's certainly visible to anyone who watches our games. Dez is certainly a fiery guy who plays with a lot of emotion both on and off the field. Sometimes, that can be a distraction. It can be a distraction for Dez, it can be a distraction for other teammates. We just have to really get our hands around when you put all the full body of work together where that's headed." - Stephen Jones
