Signed by Cowboys Allen Hurns, Cowboys Agree To 2-Year Deal

The addition of Hurns does add one more hurdle for Calvin Ridley being the pick at 19....but if he clears it.

Tell me our WR corps wouldnt be better.
Dez
Hurns
Ridley

GO COWBOYS!!!!!!

5 mill plus 5 mill for the other two bums is what we could've given Suh to impact games.....makes no sense and no sense is nonsense

I’m so happy. He’s going to be a great #2. I liked watching him at UM. I’m glad we finally signed a solid player that WILL help us next season. I’m so bias towards the U players.

Riiiigght. Nothing to see here NFL. We are keeping aaallll these receivers. I mean, unless you want to pay to get one. But for sure we're not cutting anyone. Promise.

I guess the good news is that we don't have to cut any of them until the end of camp. That puts us in position to shop them.

Of course, since the Joneses aren't very good at that, a cut will probably be announced within the hour.

LOL. Hurns is an upgrade over Bease and its not even close. Take off your dez glasses for a minute. Also, hes not going anywhere. Beasely will be gone by the end of next week. Makes cap sense and fills a need for a couple teams
mr Phil----- i must be missing something obvious?....what is all this talk about "The Bease" getting the axe?...he is a mini-stud who got bracketed because teams way more scared of him than Dez...i am thinking with our upgrades and hopefully much better scheme play...teams wont be able to bracket bease anymore...am i missing something?

Interesting. Does not appear to be a Tweet from a player threatened or who is on the way out.

I do note radio silence from Dez Bryant and Terrence Williams though.

Membership has its privileges. Dez is cool, according to Fish. That's worth $5 right there.

Would you rather have Earl Thomas quarterbacking our secondary? OR a redundant WR making 5 million this year?

They are positioned well until training camp.

No way they start camp with anyone they are planning to release. Injury risk.

But they obviously have to project that they are keeping them. Otherwise teams will just sit and wait till they're cut.

I still think both Dez and Bease are gone.

And we add a guy somewhere after round 3.

Any idea on what the WR's class looks like potentially in the draft next year?

With the way other wrs have been paid I dont expect Dez to be reduced this year jmho
well this could be true...but the way Stephen Jones was talking.... rather bluntly too i might add...and with recent additions of Thompson and now Hurns..it appears cowboys are attempting leverage too..or maybe its only getting more weapons for Dak?....well we will find out

maybe not but you do get flexibility because trotting Beas, Williams, and Dex out there everyone knows Bease is 5-9 yard routes and Dez and Williams will go intermediate to deep. Run Dez, Hurns, Thompson you at leaset have more route options from the slot since Bease is not deep pattern receiver.

I don't disagree with this. Beasley is unstoppable 1-on-1 on the quick outs and ins out of the slot because he's hard to cover. Teams adjusting their coverage to provide inside help essentially took him away because of his inability to be a deep threat.

There are scheme changes Dallas should have made to fix that, but because they refused to, Beasley's effectiveness was limited.

It's possible having Hurns as the No. 2 could change that, though, by causing the help coverage on Beasley to drop a little deeper. Teams tended to man up on Williams, but Hurns might draw a little more help. Or it's possible more of a deep threat like Thompson in the slot role could open things up more underneath for Dez and Hurns.

There are things within the same scheme that can be more effective with different players, and I think that's what Dallas is trying to do. I just don't know which players they want to swap out.

If he is an addition and not a replacement is a good signing. We needed an upgrade at the position. Now we can focus on either a TE or Guard in the draft. Hernandez has been in the news as a possible choice Not sure how the TE match in this draft got to do some reading up on it.

If they don't have a trade offer, I would think they'll take them all to camp. That gives them a chance to put them on display and also wait to see if other teams have injuries that make them need a receiver.

mr phil---- i get way too excited when ET is mentioned...i cannot let my hopes get that high only to be dashed again....i honestly would be very surprised if cowboys got ET...and i know no way cowboys give up a 1st and 3rd....they wont even give up a 1 for him..but who knows...stranger things have happened?..

Also with Hurns being a bigger target hopefully putting him in the slot sometimes for deeper crossing routes with Dez will help keep defenses honest. I even think with this group I think Dez could be moved around a little more since all three should be able to run similar routes.

I don't know how many times this needs to be reported. Dez isn't going anywhere lol
