Signed by Cowboys Allen Hurns, Cowboys Agree To 2-Year Deal

Also with Hurns being a bigger target hopefully putting him in the slot sometimes for deeper crossing routes with Dez will help keep defenses honest. I even think with this group I think Dez could be moved around a little more since all three should be able to run similar routes.

I'll be surprise if either is used that much in the slot. That's more creative than our staff usually gets.

If they don't have a trade offer, I would think they'll take them all to camp. That gives them a chance to put them on display and also wait to see if other teams have injuries that make them need a receiver.
Nah. They won't risk them getting hurt. If something doesn't shake out before the draft, it'll be shortly after.

Switzer and Brown are living on borrowed time, IMO. Switzer disappointed last season as a returner, and Thompson replaces him. Hurns could push Williams out of a job. All three of the top Cowboys WR corps from the last few seasons are now candidates for draft day trades.

Somewhere Stephen Jones is snickering and thinking: "No, it isn't."
SJ may have more power but do you think that his Pop will let him can one of his favorite players. Its one thing to change his mind about a draft pick its another when its a guy JJ has a personal attachment to.

tex--- what do you see the Hurns signing as it relates to Dez?

Personally, I think he's the perfect guy across from him. He runs crisp routes and has great hands. He is money on timing routes and knows how to find the holes in the zone. In other words, he's e everything Dez isn't. I think Hurns can make people pay for rolling coverage to Dez and/or bracketing (if he stays). I really think this is a good signing for us and he fits our current offense better than just about anyone else that we available.

If you meant do I think they keep Dez, the answer is yes. Hurns isn't a number one and I think Dez CAN still be that #1 guy if the offense can make some adjustments. I'd really like to see them move on from TWill though.

Cutting Dez makes us a worse team. Now Hurns + Dez is exciting.

Always thinking short term. Cutting Dez and using the money to sign guys like Lawrence, Martin, Hurns, ect....ect... make us a much better team. And the guys we can sign next year as well with the money as well.

Switz isn't going anywhere. He's a 4th rounder going into his second year. Twill just signed a new contract that will have a lot of dead money.

I think we should try to trade Beas to NE. They lost Amendola and he is right up there alley.

This. He is also a bigger target overall than Williams. I know Williams does not body catch often but his tendency to do so makes his target size smaller for a QB.

Dez is playing for a contract and I have to imagine he will be motivated. He can be easily cut next year for minimal dead money and he’ll be 30.

Play well and we will reward him. If he doesn’t, cue the sunset.

It is, but Dez + Ridley + Hurns + Beasley + Thompson + TWill is even more exciting.

LOL.......nothing about Williams is exciting. Nothing at all. Ridley, Hurns, Beasley has some excitement and some future to it.
