Unfortunately in present times Cowboys are considered a joke, an attraction, a tourist spot. But no team/management wants to mimic their process.

I see Atlanta using New England's game plan against Denver when Atlanta played Denver. Philly special in superbowl was a Bears vs Vikings game thing.

No one copies Cowboys way of doing things on the field or off the field. That means teams dont look at you as winners.

What is there to copy?

Outdated defensive concepts from Tampa-2 Monte Kiffin disciple with one foot out the door.

And a couple of pass-happy coordinators in Linehan and Garrett that play away from the strengths that their own team is built upon.

I'd be willing to bet that there's actually a lot of laughter that goes on behind the scenes about the Dallas Cowboys.

Ehh... Suh just made too much money period. On a team going nowhere. It just wasn't prudent to have those resources tied up when the team as a whole didn't have a bright future. On a one year deal on a young team loaded with talent? yeah makes sense. Their situation isn't really comparable to the Giants, honestly they traded for Peters with two more years of a rookie contract, got Suh on a one year deal, and Talib wasn't overly expensive, and they shed salary by trading ogletree and avoided overpaying for trumaine and watkins. Their qb is young, their feature back is young etc. Giants spent 150 million on Vernon and Jenkins when their qb was in clear decline, no running game, and the worst line in the league. Not really the same thing.

Looking back, never been that impressed with Suh or Talib. Way overpaid for what they offered. Not sure either one was a dynamic game changer.
Both are definitely not a Garrett RKG.

...on paper....

just bc you sign guys in March does not mean you will have a great team in reality...just ask the eagles dream team a few years back. There are a lot of things that factor in from chemistry, to injuries and how guys end up fitting together. Just bc they look good on paper doesnt mean they will have a great team.
i agree with you 100% but I am basing that on last years team and the division they are in.

I don't see it happening. Brown's are after power house Saquon Barkley and rumor has it, Foles is on that list as well. With them two alone, the Brown's have a few wins already for '18 season lol. Anyway, their new WR's coach is Adam Henry. Not only did Henry coach Beckham at LSU, but also with the Gnat '16-'17 Seasons. Then you have Beckham's good buddy from LSU, Landry. They became the first pair of receivers in school history to finish with more than 1,000 yards in the same season in '13.

The two are both 3x Pro Bowlers who have combined for 60 TD catches since '14. Browns receivers combined for seven last year. Besides, Henry knows how to handle these two fiery personalities. He's done it before. You heard it here first. ;)

Why on earth is this thread still in the Cowboys forum and not the NFL forum? I like to keep up with our rivals more than most but until something happens with Odiva, who cares?

yeah i'm not advocating dallas sign them, but i think the rams is a good landing spot for both. you're bugging that neither of them are game changers though.

Both are becoming over the hill, overpaid players, not worth the hassle.

It seems like Ozzie Newsome tells Jerry every year that Dallas drafted the guy that the Ravens wanted. I bet the whole league has gets a good laugh at Jerry's expense.

It's always fascinating to me when people complain about stuff like this.

If the mods want to move it, that's great. But it's always peculiar to me when fans question why the content of one random thread haven't had the thread moved to another forum.

I am generally curious here. I guess I might get it if this forum was simply riddled with posts that have nothing to do with the Cowboys but like 95% of the content here is Cowboys related.

Glad I could fascinate you. You must have a pretty boring life but to each their own.

If 95% of the thread is Cowboys related then it doesn’t involve OBJ since he has almost nothing to do with the Cowboys. It just seems in the Fan Zone a lot of threads have more to do with other teams and players not associated with the Cowboys. I thought that’s what the NFL zone was for. It’s not ruining my day, it’s just a minor annoyance and I’m genuinely curious why more people seemed concerned with a head case on another team rather than the head cases on our team.

Over 20 threads on this first page of the Zone.

One has little to do with the Cowboys. In reality, it kind of has something to do with the Cowboys since it would be a divisional rival possibly trading away one of their best, albeit ridiculous insane, players.

To say nothing of the fact that, when nobody "cares" the thread topic will quickly fall off of the main page and be forgotten.

The fact that it sits atop the board means that more people do "care" than do not.

Speaking for myself, I'm concerned for two reasons.

One, one of the league's most talented receiver, and one currently in our division, may be switching teams. If that haplens, it changes the face of a Cowboys opponent.

And if he does end up with the Rams, a playoff team that beat the Cowboys last year will be even tougher should Dallas make the playoffs this year.

Nobody made you click on it.

Especially with this coach.

His greatest ability is self preservation. Combined with the ownership's vested interest and overreaching want for him - and therefore their plan - to succeed doesn't help. Few, if any owners make the excuses for the head coaches faults and failings the way the Joneses do, only Mike Brown comes close.

And meanwhile, player after player, coach after coach, and scheme after scheme are changed out and little changes. Even the rare playoff appearances are short lived.

Yeah. I'm sure you want to win more than Garrett does. He's ONLY concerned about feathering his bed with a cushy job. Winning never enters his mind. I'm sure you want to win more than the Jones family does. After all, it's all about Jerry's ego because he's so insecure about Jimmy Johnson blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Do you actually read your own posts? Do you honestly believe the bile you spit out?
