Would have to move past Washington...unless they are able to sign Hankins before the draft.

I really hope we can get Vea. He will be a difference maker in our D. And yes, he can play all three downs. He is not only a two down DT.

I will gladly trade our 1st and 3rd if that will get us up 5 spots. I'd even throw in one of our 4th. I feel he is that good.

Most mocks have the skins taking Vea, so even at 16 we may still have lost him to them, Even if we had lost to the egirls.

I want somebody to crush the middle of their OL so Lawtence and Taco can turn loose.

Vita Vea would work.

We need muscle not finess players.

Not to mention, I want a player in the middle that will keep the LBs (hopefully they land one early) clean so they can make plays.

For what it's worth. Sometimes this guy is tied in.

Chris Arnold seems like a nice guy but he is goofy.

Years ago he thought Janet Jackson wanted to hook up with him because he received an invite to a party when was in town for a concert.

He was honestly shocked that it didn't happen and said she would likely call him later.

He does know many athletes and pseudo celebrities. He has a good story of Jerry letting him try on one of his Super Bowl rings at a party and then Jerry walked off without it.

Having said that, he is not connected in regards to the Cowboys draft. Despite covering the team for a long time he does not know much about the details of football.

Ive never seen the Jones era Cowboys paint a pre draft picture of their intentions, but you can not ignore the entire staff checking out Sutton.
If that's a smoke screen, then they are burning oil.

Tied in or not, It isn't this teams MO to draft DT's that high. Maybe they've seen the light and the light is Vea, To me he is the #1 difference maker in the first round for this team. I'll be surprised if we go that route but a very good surprised

Okay, that's a fair answer, but I should have been more specific. We would have to mortgage our entire draft to get up to most of those guys. Vita will most likely go in the 10-20 range, so when I think trade up, I'm thinking a small jump...not leaping into the top 10...that would definitely cost way too much. So when you said 5 guys you would rather have I thought you meant guys that would also still be available after the top 10 are off the board. My guess is 4 of those 5 will be gone by 11.
Oh no I was speaking in general. That's why I'm saying if I'm trading up I'd rather trade up and go all in on one of those top 10 guys then I would for Vea who I'd rather take my chance on being there.

Probably in that range
I just hate trading picks unless they are 4th or lower really
The 3rd rnd could be our starting guard or safety
Love the player and if we were set at more positions I wouldn’t mind so much
But we don’t have a starting LG, we are thin at safety and LB. who knows what’s happening with dez so we may need a WR
Just so costly to go get him unless he is really close and then you got to think he could fall all the way to 19
I agree I honestly have a strong suspicion that 2nd or 3rd rounder might be our starting guard. I'm not with the two starters for one. We have too many holes for that.

In their defense....there haven't been too many defensive tackles worth taking with their first round pick.....only guy I can think of them passing on his Sherrif Floyd.

Gotta love that 6-0 week 17 win that much more now. Trading up to get back spaces we could have had for free.

Here's where I have an issue with fans criticizing the Week 17 win over the Eagles: Are you really serious? Garrett's team only scored 6 points. One single TD by the Eagles would have turned it into a loss. Isn't it more likely the Eagles tanked than the Cowboys tried to win to give Garrett a 9-7 record? 6 points scored is "undermining" the Cowboys draft position? Really? How much more could Garrett have done to try to lose the game? 6 points. I repeat. 6 whole points.

For me, you only trade away picks for someone that fills a major need or is highly rated but has slipped. And in the case of a first rounder, an immediate starter.

Our major holes right now are Safety, Guard and LB.

A first round pick at any one of those 3 would be an immediate starter for us.

With Collins and Irving starting inside, I don't see a first round need for a DT.

If we were to trade up, I'd hope it would be for James only. And looks like that would be too expensive.

The egirls were not trying either, that is why there JV Squad played the whole game. If they wanted too there starters would have been out there to blow us out.

Well I'd have to go back in draft history since 2003 to see how many we've passed on in the first round. Even the top 2 rounds.. The last I remember taking in the first was Spears and he played in a 3-4 at that. Just saying DT hasn't been high on our priority list. T Craw was a tweener and where was he drafted, 3'rd round? I'd love to see Vea picked by the Boys. I'll be happy shocked if we do
