They achieved their goals and got the number 1 overall pick and the players that they wanted. Conversely, what have Jason Garrett's meaningless wins done for the Cowboys?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't two of those "perennial losers" won championships more recently than the Cowboys have?
I guess we're right down in "the dumpster of the NFL" with them based on "winning championships" criteria?
Not since tanking they have not. Suck for Luck was in the wake of the Manning years. TB wasn't tanking under Gruden and Dungy.
And tanking is a means to an end even if a poor one. The draft has never been a team's end game. It's all about wins on the field.
And the point here is that tanking's performance has never gotten what you want in the NFL. You can do the whole self loathing thing if it makes you feel better. That was not my point at all.
