No way is Landry worth that nor is Dez for that matter. I watched every game down here and I liked Landry but don’t be fooled by his stats, no separation or deep threat. Dolphins were smart for once,Boys should see that with Dez as well.

Tony Romo loved Dez and they had fantastic chemistry and had three dominant seasons together.

So what you’re saying is that Romo was better than any QB currently in the NFL? Because that would be so if it “didn’t matter what QB [Dez] ended up with, the QB would still :banghead:”.

Romo had a more healthier Dez who's greatest strength was going up to get the ball. Dez still was never a fully polished wr.

Dak gets the Dez on the decline.

So ok Romo had a better jump ball than dak! Not a big difference. We all have already seen the real dak in year 1.

I think teams are overpaying for the wide receiver position. The top salaries on a team should be QB, LT, DE, DT, Center, RT and Guard provided the player is elite. The game is won in the trenches and that is where the the team should allocate the resources. All the positions on the team is dependent on the O-line and D-line and of course the QB.

I would not cut Dez if I was the GM, however I would not spend money in the future on a WR, DB, or RB if the trenches and QB positions were not solidified. The Dez business has to be wrapped up soon as possible as to not become a distraction.

Go Dallas !!!

As much as this is a passing league the money being given out are just ridiculous. All of the teams who can't draft and are bad are screwing the teams that do it well.
Every time some above average guard gets paid "Zack Martin" money it just keeps driving up the price. I'm sure Martins agent Tom Condon is loving this.

Cowboys aren't paying him $16MM a year either right now. Only $12.5MM this year and next year. And none of it guaranteed.

So yeah, he probably could find equal or a better contract if cut, and likely more guaranteed money than he is getting right now.
its 16.5 12.5 base salary 4 mil bonus..

you are reading it wrong. that 4 mm per year is the amount of his signing bonus spread over the life of the contract 20mm spread over 5 years It shows in 2018 for cap hit purposes. If he is on the cowboys roster he is making 12.5mm he already pocketed that 4mm.

This link, go to the cash details for this year it shows 12.5mm

It just proved dez is under performing but paid market value
:hammer:stated many times, the market shifted in his favor. His contract is now line with where he should be, especially considering none of his money is guaranteed.

I think he meant that
16.5 hit
12.5 base
4 bonus

Yeah but I think he's thinking Dez will be handed $16.5MM in pay this year. He won't. He will only be paid $12.5MM this year.

The $4MM bonus is just the prorated $20MM given to Bryant in 2015. That $4MM has already been paid to Bryant.

Why? No one will pay him $16M a year after the last 3 years, dont care what kind of money is being given to Landry.
He doesn't need to get 16m per year, the Cowboys if they ask for a pay cut would probably ask him to take a pay cut to around 8m for this season. Dez could easily say no to that and be pretty confident some team with alot of cap space (like San Fran) would at least offer him 9-11m on a one year show me deal. If it works out then they can sign him longer term and if it doesn't they let him go after the season. The Cowboys have to be very careful how they do this. The only way i see Dez even considering a pay cut is if they build in reachable incentives for him to get the money back

So, the Browns just signed Jarvis Landry to a 5 year deal worth $75 million, $46 million guaranteed.

Sammy Watkins is getting over $16 million per season.

Odell Beckam want $20 million per season.

And we should cut Dez....:lmao:

I'm pretty confident they're going to suggest he take a cut to 7 or 8 mil to be more in line with where he is today with regard to twilight performance. Perhaps some performance incentives might come along as well... I said this exactly same thing several weeks ago and was lambasted for even making the suggestion.

That said, watch it happen tomorrow. He either takes it or he exits stage left to go get paid his "fair market value" elsewhere. Won't miss him...

PS... No one cares that these other teams around the league are overpaying. What have the Browns done in the history of their franchise? Lmao...

I like this new more prudent approach that is coming mostly from Stephen's growing influence. It will bode well for the future.

Jerry may sit down with Dez tomorrow but you better believe there will be some Stephen Jones influence in Jerry's message!

Getcha popcorn ready!!!

Certainly puts things into perspective!..Well done
right people just feel like look how much money he has and now hes dropped from a HOF output to Average Guy..its perception.. Witten has dropped little but really hes still in the mix with most normal TEs now..not less , the same..but really Dez is getting the shaft from Fans when you compare him to what the other big FA Wr got this offeseaon comparing their career numbers , they only wish they can be Dez..Lee is getting targeted now but people don't realize he may have missed 3-4 games but his production in 12 games are the same as most of the starting LBs have in 16 games, hes that good and that important..
