Will defenses stack 9 on the line now?

FYI Dez was doubled on 31% of his snaps last year IIRC, which was 7th in the league. He was behind Hopkins, Keenan Allen, OBJ, and Brown off the time off my head (according to PFF).
as were other top receivers in the league who still found ways to get to the ball...that is my issue with him

not disagreeing with you. However, those teams have coaches who scheme their receivers open. Our coach just claps.

No, that's one of the reasons why Zeke isn't facing a lot of "stacked boxes" because we use 3 WR sets which prevents the defenses from stacking the box. It's why I always get a chuckle out of people claiming Zeke runs against all these stacked boxes.
Yes, with 3 Wide it's either 6 or 7 in the box. The 7 vs 8 in the box is a concept against 2 wide sets.

With no threat of a reciever demanding double coverage down field?

I would!!!!! Witten is prohibited from going past the markers. Williams can't catch a cold and the two new guys are unknown. I would put 11 in the box and dare the Cowboys to throw it.

I dont want to be over critical .

I read a sports writer suggest defenses could more easily stack 8 or 9 in the box now without a downfield threat. It appears a legit concern.

The downfield threat will be there in the form of Thompson (& possibly a high draft pick). The route running will also be exceptional in the form of Hurns (wowzers... separation at the line from a wideout! Imagine that!). So they can stack 9 if they want to. Toastmasters City if they do.

I've been looking for double team stats for awhile now. Where did you find these?

I am fairly certain that our staff will work on different formations to give at least the appearance of different looks this year.

If our O-Line stays healthy and does that great job then yeah. It’s on.

Well, here is another way to look at a stacked box. Without Dez, the defenses will not know who to target, so we just need a WR to make a few plays to get the attention of the DC's. Then that opens it up for Zeke.

This is of course if Dak improves his accuracy to get the ball to a WR.
I agree with this. It is kind of like the 09 season when T.O. left. We didn't have a true number 1 receiver but Miles Austin became one during the season. The Cowboys relied on running the ball, throwing the ball to the WRs in single coverage, Witten and F. Jones.

I'm not too worried about this as long as they a WRs can catch for first downs and the offense can move down the field by any means.

Sounds like we’re basically conceding to being a lower half or bottom tier passing team?
