If he was in demand, he'd have a line of teams going after him.

He's not, so he doesn't.
Teams were fighting over Ryan Grant a few weeks ago. You don't have to like Dez but you can't sit here and say his market would've been a lot better few weeks ago than it would be now. Guys like Jordy Nelson and Crabtree got picked up for good contracts and they are in the same boat Dez is in except Jordy is injury prone.

I don't know what his "demand" is but I'm not stupid enough to believe no one is interested in bringing in Dez. Players have begged for Dez to come to their team/city.

Players don't matter. GMs do.

They did Dez a big favor by releasing him now. They could have waited until June 1st and gotten more cap relief. They did this for him.

They tried to trade him. They couldn't get anything for him. So here we are.

The man got $37 million for virtually nothing. He'll be OK.

No offense, WG, but in your heart of hearts do you really believe that Dez and his camp would not be leaking who wants to sign him? Wouldn't it be better for him for teams to know that other teams are interested? Agents do this all the time even when there is zero other interest in that player.
Why would I be offended by the question? I'm not emotionally tied into the Dez situation. lol

I'm thinking as logically as what I think tends to happen during these situations. While Dez might be a chatterbox as to his career, I've never known Roc Nation to operate that way as it pertains to their other clients. And it is legitimately close to the draft, teams are now holding their cards close to their vests. Why tie up money in a vet right now? You wait until after the draft and then the 2nd wave of free agency opens up.

I wouldn't be surprised at whatever length contract he might gets after that with 3 years being the max.

Wow...sure seems to be high praise for a "bum". That being said....that's Flacco's problem and why he is where he is at in his career. He's throwing the football at times when he shouldn't.
Dez is only a bum with the wrong quarterback.

He needs a certain type of guy.

He said he looked forward to playing us twice a year because he assumed another NFC East team would just snatch him up right away. That hasn't happened and no other team has invited him for a visit or he would have gone for the visit. The message ought to be sinking into to his thick skull that he's not so in-demand as he's convinced himself that he is. Time to be humble Dez.

Dallas paid him $37 million guaranteed dollars for mediocre production.

I think the Cowboys have a right to seek a trade after paying that freight. Nobody was interested.

I thought you were referring to him not signing anywhere in free agency yet.

I remember hearing Cowboys had trade offers that they rejected because they intended on keeping him. A lot of misinformation is out there like any news story in this country.

Its been almost a week now and he hasn't signed anywhere, it sounded to me like an NFC East team was all but ready to get him when he said he looks forward to playing us twice a year.

He also hasn't visited with any team either.

thoughts?
That thuggish lad needs to sign soon.
He is not a member of MENSA and it will take months to absorb a new playbook.
Coach: Dez, this is a split contact route ....
Dez: Do dey have a nightclub nearsbye? ....

Ok so what's your point? I never said he wouldn't be ok? And the Cowboys didn't do him a favor. They should've cut him earlier if they wanted to do him a "favor".

Players don't matter? Alright. We will see lol.

Looking at the timeline. They announced March 23 that they had agreed to terms with Hurns. Assuming a minimum of a day to negotiate all the details, we'll say the contract was signed on March 24. On April 11 it was reported Jerry was planning to meet with Dez 2 days later. That leaves 2 1/2 weeks (17 days plus or minus a day) between signing Hurns contract and Jerry apparently deciding they were ready to let Dez go. Did they take the full 17 or so days trying to trade him? Or one week? Or something more or less than one week? Who knows? There is no way to prove how much time they used. Either way, it's not a huge amount of time. Who knows, since Hurns slary isn't huge, they may have still been weighing keeping both Dez and Hurns for awhile. In the end, I can't say for certain there was no spite, but I can say for certain that spite is not the only possible explanation.

Again, prove to me that any trade talks were taking place at all. Otherwise, it has no validity or merit.

I know for certain there were no reports of any team being given permission to talk to Dez about a contract.

No he said I'll see you twice next year because he was frustrated and p'o'd at what happened. He was speaking out of frustration. He should know his best chance to succeed and win a ring is not any of these teams in the NFC East except maybe the Eagirls.
