Players shouldn't waste time donating and fundraising as it wastes valuable time that could be spent on football.

Haven't been that big of a fan of what he's produced lately......and his music sucks too.

rap is not my genre. but he got a lot of good reviews for his album. can't fault the guy for being multi-dimensional. there could be some science/physics rap in my future.

Just produce on the field, and people can say whatever they want.

That's how I feel. But some fans want to be kept "comfortable" at the same time as if they're in some position of power over the athletes and can dictate how they should live their lives or deem them "not dedicated enough." Then people wonder why some athletes like throwing up the "I" to fans.

Here, these media flunkies are just pandering to the usual "righteous outraged" fans to give them something they agree with before they give them something they disagree with to be "indignantly outraged" by. The media plays the public like a fiddle.

He should stick to football.

If you didn't know who Cole Beasley was and you heard his rap album you wouldn't give it the time of day.

That's cool that it's a hobby for him but let's not act like it's quality at all.

Not new, I just get annoyed with the organization being happy to be here and not winning. Aikman, Irvin, Emmitt and that generation of Cowboys weren't satisfied with getting drafted and playing for the Cowboys, they wanted to win. I feel like the celebrity culture has hurt the competitiveness of the team in the last 20 years. That's my thought on it. Sometimes I get the vibe that winning isn't the reason they're playing, they're playing to be celebrities. that's just my take on it.
I agree.

And the coaching staff and management enable it.

Have not read through all the post, and probably won't waste my time on it all.

But has anyone mentioned or considered what Beasley said, was taken out of context?
Maybe he wasn't as serious saying that, as people are taking it.

I am sure when it is time to prepare for TC and games, Cole will be thinking football, not lyrics to a rap song...well I do take issue referring rap as songs and music. But that is for another time and place. LOL.

even though I know little about rap, I rank him ahead of troy aikman singing "Oklahoma boys on an oklahoma night".

I wonder if Cole had dropped an elevator jazz album, instead of a rap album, if people would be so flustered by his hobby.

What if he was really into photography and spent the offseason traveling, taking photos and selling prints?

I haven’t listened to his music and don’t plan to but I get the feeling what really bothers some people is that he’s into rap, not whatever it is they’re into.

You ain't lyin'. It's the same reason people have issues with Roc Nation, as if Jay-Z is there negotiating contracts for players, lol. They can look down on him all they want but just don't forget to call him their vast financial superior.

People want to be entertained. They don't like when the entertainers have lives and opinions.
