Why Dak became the starter is irrelevant to what kind of impact he had, once he did start. Ideally Dak would still be on the bench developing behind a healthy Romo. Unfortunately that just wasn’t possible.
The team did go to crap in 2015 because Romo was hurt and Murray left. You’re right and I’m glad you admit that.
That being said, the next season, the only difference from the 2014 offense that went 12-4 and the 2016 offense that went 13-3 was switching out Murray for Zeke and Romo for Dak.
That’s where you really have to make the comparison.
Now I believe Zeke is better than Murray. However, the production between the two was relatively the same.
Look at how Dak played versus how Romo played those two years. Dak’s stats were damn similar to Romo’s. Now I’m not saying Dak is better than Romo. He isn’t at this stage. And that’s not a knock on Dak but moreso respect to Tony.
However, look at how Dak’s play in 2016 stacked up under similar circumstances to tony’s 2014 play.
Dak’s play was right up there and the people who completely dismiss giving him any credit for that is just wrong. How can you say that 2016 offense was all Zeke and the OL. Yet in 2014 people wanted Romo
To win MVP when he has Murray and the OL.
