How is it not HOF fault, who chooses the voters, he’s absolutely right to stick the middle finger up at them, they did for years. They ruined the biggest honor by making a mockery over the HOF voting process. Good job T.O. The only thing I would’ve done differently was just not show up. I wouldn’t have told the a damn thing.

Is TO the only guy to take so long to get into the HOF? Plenty of other guys. TO once again shows that he is a selfish jerk and a moron. AT least nobody has to listen to that fool get up and give a speech. Truth be told hes probably too much of a wuss to get up there. A guy filled with nothing but anger and arrogance never has much to say that people want to hear anyway.

No its not. You are calling him classless on the basis of your definition of classy. I don't believe he is classless to decline an invitation to a ceremony where he disagrees with the process or what they believe in. I can understand why he might feel it would be "fake" for him to attend.

I get it but this is the same HOF group he got bent out of shape about NOT being a part of? Do you see the hypocrisy?

No, T.O has enough pride to not cater to the BS. Which is the NFL. The others tuck their tails and run like pheasants on crumbs.

Yes, there have been players before that should have been first ballot guys who got passed over. This is nothing unique to Owens.

But this is what Owens does......... plays the victim card, etc. He's done it throughout his career.

Not surprised. T.O. never could succeed at anything requiring a cooperative effort. It always was and still is about him. He will live to regret this all his life

That’s exactly what the voters wanted, cooperative effort my ***. they wanted to punish him. Why should he be grateful for that.

You're not going then because Witten won't get in before Antonio Gates.
We'll see. Witten has more catches, more yards, more 1000 yard seasons, more Pro Bowls. Gates has more TD's (a lot more) and one more season as All-Pro. They could both go at the same time, but the Hall is tough on TE's. One other factor is the fact that Gates hasn't actually retired yet. The Chargers just lost their #1 TE to an ACL tear and have recently hinted at bringing Gates back for another season.

I don’t think he could find anyone to introduce him and have nice things to say about him so he took the cowards way out. Just don’t show up. I still say he will regret it in the not so distant future.

Kind of looked forward to his speech actually, he's an emotional dude and he would have laid it all out there. I really hope that someone who is close to him can help change his mind as I think it's something that he may regret down the road. Ha, this is something that I would freaking do!
He would have thanked Romo, tearfully, and said "That's my color analyst".

Is he going to be hanging out with Bob Dylan that day?

Witten won't have to show up either, just have them play his retirement speech, he thanked everyone he's ever met and some he would have liked to meet.

I kinda understand. Lockerroom shenanigans aside, he should have been a lock for first ballot for what he did on the field which is what I thought they were voting for in the first place. He's returning petty for petty.

I don't know that the HOF voters are asked to disregard things that they feel may have been detrimental to the game, but even if they are told only to consider play on the field, it should be a surprise to TO that it doesn't work that way. It never has. If TO thinks the process and HOF are a sham, he should decline to be inducted altogether. The fact that his chosen path is simply to be petty only highlights the reasons voters held out on him longer than they would have otherwise.

After crying and complaining when he was passed up in the past he pulls this when he finally gets in?

They should just cancel his selection

They stuck the middle finger at him for a reason. He was a Immature, prima donna jerk and locker room cancer wherever he went.
